03:52:00raptorgood evening!
03:53:00sam686i found 2 things about a problem with RepairPickup. Client does not render it, and Server doesn't handle collision to health right meaning cannot pickup ReapirItem.
03:55:00raptorthat is odd
03:56:00raptori forgot to ask: did you make any change to the SoundSystem class with that goofy volume changing?
03:57:00sam686yes, but not pushed yet..
03:57:00raptorok
03:57:00sam686i have a video of a new problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKNwDYEjje4
03:58:00sam686sometimes, can't change weapon, and chat gets delayed, and dropping flags gets delayed to a point the ship drop flags randomly on its own.
03:58:00raptori ran into that on that level, too...
03:58:00raptorwhat is blocking it?
03:58:00raptorserver processing flag collisions too slowly?
03:59:00sam686probably the client is creating events faster then sending it, mostly (GameType, c2sResendItemStatus)
04:06:00raptori'm fixing compile errors on linux..
04:23:00raptoryou turned off c++0x in the vc++2010 project?
04:24:00sam686yes.. so that makes it less likely to use something that won't work with old xcode mac / linux gcc.
04:24:00raptorexcellenr
04:24:00raptori'm going to remove your if !_HAS_CPP0X
04:25:00raptorok, compiled cleanly
04:25:00raptorcan I push?
04:25:00sam686i jsut pushed..
04:26:00BFLogBot - Commit 0e2850bc20f4 | Author: sam8641 | Log: Fix hosting causes sound volume to be full blast, fix rendering of RepairItem and EnergyItem
04:27:00raptorok i pushed..
04:28:00raptori see lots of your checkins with line-ending changes
04:28:00sam686i keep getting "Inconsistent line endings"
04:28:00raptorah
04:28:00raptoryou are making them unix based, correct?
04:28:00sam686yes
04:29:00raptorok cool
04:30:00raptori'm actually going to head in early tonight - i'm already falling asleep
04:30:00raptorhave a good night

14:51:00raptorgood morning!
14:52:00Zoomberwe have a new server put up called "block land".
14:52:00Zoomberi wonder if its in europe
14:52:00raptoryes
14:52:00Zoomber201 ping for me
14:52:00raptori played it this morning
14:52:00raptortalked with the admin a bit
14:52:00raptortold me to bring more friends to play
14:53:00Zoomberdo you know who that was?
14:53:00raptornot quite sure - wasn't a registered user
14:53:00raptorbegan with a K, i think
14:55:00raptorthe server's IP registers as from the town of Freedom, Maine
14:55:00Zoomberraptor, didnt you say you worked with browsers side by side?
14:55:00raptorZoomber: i don't understand
14:55:00raptorplease clarify the question
14:56:00ZoomberI thought you we're creating some page, and needed to use all browsers to test that it works
14:56:00Zoomberor some code, or something
14:56:00raptorat work, i have done web development
14:57:00raptorwhich requires me to test the code in several browsers
14:57:00Zoomberdo you use linux as a base os there?
14:57:00raptoryes
14:57:00raptorand i use 5 browser :)
14:58:00Zoomberso, im guessing, Safari on virtual mac, firefox on ubuntu, internet explorer 9 on windows 7, ie8 on win xp, and maybe google chrome..
14:58:00raptoron linux: firefox/chromium/opera/seamonkey/konqueror
14:59:00raptoron windows: ie 7/8/9
14:59:00raptoron mac: safari
14:59:00Zoomberive used camino and shiira in the past
15:00:00raptortechnically firefox/camino/seamonkey are the same - they use the same engine
15:00:00Zoomberah, ok
15:00:00raptoralso safari/chromium/konqueror are usually similar
15:01:00raptoropera is the odd man out
15:01:00Zoombershiira is a variant of safari, i think
15:01:00raptori've never heard of it
15:02:00Zoomberhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiira
15:02:00raptoryeah, ok. It's WebKit based, too
15:02:00raptorthere are usually 3 main classes of browsers:
15:03:00raptorWebKit based
15:03:00raptorGecko based
15:03:00Zoomberactually, it has been a bit inactive for a while, though I used it over four five six years ago
15:03:00raptorIE based
15:03:00raptorGecko = Mozilla
15:03:00raptorthen there's the red-headed step-child: opera
15:04:00ZoomberI have made it so there is an internet explorer 7.app on my dock
15:05:00Zoomberoh my, i'm already out of ram

18:23:00karamazovapyI'm curious about "KidDeath10k"s idea of a good bitfighter level
18:25:00raptorwhere does he say that?
18:26:00karamazovapyhttp://bitfighter.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=853 - he's hosting a contest and (apparently) made this maps himself
18:26:00karamazovapy*the maps
18:27:00karamazovapyI'm skeptical, as I've never seen him play the game
18:29:00raptori still don't see where he has posted anything about maps...
18:29:00raptorbut i did see him in the editor earlier today (like at 7 in morning)
18:31:00karamazovapyin one of the reddit threads, sky comments that there's no spectator mode, and he explains that he's made the maps

18:33:00karamazovapy There may not be a Spectator option, but I am crafty with the level editor. I made a Spectator team, modified the spawn points and placed a ton of Spy Bugs in the walls and in unreachable places of the map. Spectator has a special zone that they spawn in with a few teleporters and obvious the Commander screen shows where everyone else is on the map.
18:34:00raptorah ha! i see that now
18:34:00raptormaybe he just took existing maps and altered them..
18:34:00karamazovapyKidDeath10kKidDeath[S,M] 2 points 7 minutes ago
18:34:00karamazovapyOh, I read your initial question wrong. The gametype is Bitmatch, which I assume is Deathmatch however since there are a total of three teams
18:35:00karamazovapymaybe he modified a regular bitmatch into team bitmatch...but I don't know what map he would use
18:35:00karamazovapyand I'll be surprised if his spybugs actually work as intended
18:36:00raptori think Robotron on reddit is watusimoto
18:36:00raptoris what i meant
18:37:00karamazovapyahh...I thought I had seem him post as watusimoto, but maybe I'm just thinking of tigforums

23:55:00Zoomberhow about a robot that joins and leaves when a new server is put up to find its name, if it cant query the stats
23:55:00raptorexplain further
23:56:00Flynnn has joined
23:56:00Zoomberok, it may need to be put on the same server the master server is hosted, or just laced into the master interface
23:57:00ZoomberBasically
23:57:00Zoombersomething, (i was thinking of a robot that joins the server)
23:57:00Zoombersomething, that punches through the server's firewall to gain the server's information
23:57:00Zoomberin the most basic form
23:58:00sam686master can already know what the server have, as servers connects to master..
23:58:00Zoomberto eliminate all these ping timed out servers; its really getting cloudy, when half our list is bloody red
23:58:00Zoomber@sam686, even for "ping timed out" servers?
23:59:00sam686it is possible to display server names instead of "Ping timed out", but the ping numbers would have to stay 9999 when it can't ping..
23:59:00Zoomberfor me, NWPS.ws is Ping timed out untill I connect to it
23:59:00raptorso maybe have dedicated servers register their name with the master, and maybe say the server is firewalled?
