04:19:00raptori'm going to speed up compile by moving all the declarations out of gameType.h

04:21:00sam686Not sure if linux have a similar way to show all "including file" like i did to show thousands of files being included..
04:28:00raptorprobably, i haven't found it though...
04:29:00raptori just did an 'include' search and it was in at lease 20 files
04:29:00karamazovapydidn't mean to harsh the iphone thread by pointing out (yet again) how far away mobile bitfighter is
04:29:00raptor28 to be exact
04:30:00raptorkaramazovapy: haha, that's ok
04:30:00raptori am glad you said it actually
04:30:00karamazovapybut drawing penises all over it was a bit over the top
04:30:00karamazovapywouldn't have gone there, myself
04:31:00raptorthat way there won't be much furor over it being developed again...
04:31:00karamazovapywell...not that what I say actually means much development wise, but there still seems to be a mentality that a mobile version is just waiting to happen
04:33:00raptorgameType is HUGE
04:34:00raptoryeah, i try to dispell that mentality when I can
04:35:00raptorbecause really it's a TON of work, mostly research probably
04:35:00raptorI already am learning too much each day that my head hurts
04:35:00karamazovapymaybe over the winter I'll see if there's any way to load a more complete linux build onto an android phone and then do a regular linux compile
04:36:00raptoryou have android?
04:36:00karamazovapyyeah, I have a droid
04:36:00raptorcool
04:36:00karamazovapyI think that's the most realistic route to a mobile build, for now
04:36:00raptorthe move to SDL should have made it easier, too
04:36:00raptoryeah apple is going to require a front-end rewrite
04:36:00raptorat least
04:38:00karamazovapywell I'm going to watch colbert and go to bed
04:38:00karamazovapysee y'all later
04:39:00raptorbye
04:40:00sam686http://208.107.52.15/bitfighter/slow_password_attack_ftp.txt that is a very slow password guess attempt on my FTP server, except my FTP don't have a user "Administrator".
04:43:00sam686there is #include "shared_ptr.hpp" in UI.h and gameObject.h, can remove that include, as i found it is not needed...

05:09:00sam686http://208.107.52.15/irclog/main.php is different from http://209.141.63.138/irclogs/index.php?date=2011-09-14
05:10:00sam686it told me that everyone here has quit (*.net *.split)
05:12:00raptorweird
05:12:00raptorok
05:12:00raptorcompile tests are in after moving declarations out of gametype.h
05:12:00raptoraverage compile time (with 4 tests) before: 44.1 seconds
05:13:00raptoraverage compile time (with 4 tests) after: 43.1 seconds
05:13:00raptorso like 2%!
05:13:00raptori can remove those includes with my commit, too..
05:15:00sam686http://208.107.52.15/bitfighter/110913-build-include.txt - this time it is 3.3 MB instead of 18.4 MB

05:18:00Zoomberplease, go on, and good
05:18:00sam686hi
05:18:00Zoomberhi sam686
05:19:00raptorok sam686, my amazing compiling speed-up commit is in...
05:20:00ZoomberRAPTOR, WHAT DOES THAT SUGGEST TO YOU?
05:20:00raptorZoomber: are you a robot?
05:20:00sam686viewing this link http://208.107.52.15/bitfighter/110912-build-include.txt (18.4 MB) might cause your computer to freeze, like it did to raptor. Thats before removing a boost header include out of the BanList.h
05:20:00ZoomberYES, I AM A ROBOT
05:20:00Zoombersam686, thats so.....please continue
05:21:00sam686umm, usually robot replys in less then a second..
05:21:00raptormaybe this robot skips a few CPU cycles here and there... :)
05:22:00ZoomberI SEE....
05:22:00ZoomberI SEE....
05:23:00BFLogBot - Commit 8e141d804f63 | Author: buckyballreaction | Log: Spead compiling by 2%! - Move method declarations out of gameType.h - remove some boost headers in header files
05:23:00ZoomberWELL WELL......DO GO ON
05:23:00raptorargh, spelling errors in commit messages
05:23:00ZoomberPLEASE EXPLAIN THE BACKGROUND TO THAT REMARK......
05:23:00raptormakes my blood churn
05:23:00ZoomberI UNDERSTAND.....
05:24:00Zoomber was kicked from #bitfighter by raptor
05:24:00raptor:)
05:24:00raptorlet's see if he comes back real fast...
05:25:00raptorhuh, he logged off
05:26:00sam686Zoomber : No such nick/channel .... i wonder if zoomver quits..
05:26:00sam686tried to do /msg Zoomber
05:26:00raptoryeah, same message
05:27:00raptori wasn't mad at him, hope he knows i would almost never kick someone unless they were really abusive

05:27:00raptori wonder if watusimoto is a robot
05:28:00sam686i think not, unless same IP as Zoomber
05:29:00[1]watusimoto has joined
05:29:00raptorI think a good rule of thumb is to avoid including boost headers in .h files at all costs...
05:30:00sam686moving tiny or empty functions to CPP doesn't seem to help speed up much, but that still equally includes the same number headers..
05:31:00raptor2% i think is a big amount
05:31:00raptorfor just that one header
05:31:00sam686but, will help if a function in .h require headers in .h, moving function to .cpp will only need include in .cpp, in some cases..
