00:16:24bobdaduckSup
00:16:31raptorwell hello
00:16:49bobdaduckSup?
00:16:57raptorsupper?
00:17:02raptoryes, mine was good
00:17:05bobdaducklol
00:17:14bobdaduckI'm going laser tagging real soon here
00:17:18raptoroooo
00:17:19bobdaduckbut question
00:17:25raptoruse the mirrors
00:17:32bobdaduckis the min/max player system working?
00:17:36bobdaduckTHERE ARE NO MIRRORS.
00:18:23raptori'm not sure, i've honestly never used it
00:18:41raptorsam686: how do min/max players work with constricting the server?
00:19:03raptorbobdaduck: next time you see someone in a cubbie-hole, look above them for a mirror
00:19:13bobdaducklol
00:19:19bobdaduckthe arena I'm going to doesn't use mirrors.
00:19:23bobdaduckunfortunately.
00:19:24raptorah ok
00:22:06bobdaduckI think sam is dead.
00:22:11sam686hi
00:22:16bobdaducknevermind.
00:22:34raptori'm pretty sure min/max players do restrict joins - i think i ran into that on the last BBB server
00:22:45sam686I was eating for the past 30 minutes..
00:22:52sam686min/max doesn't restrict joins
00:22:58raptorno?
00:23:04raptorthen what does it do?
00:23:06raptoroh
00:23:10raptorstay out of rotation?
00:23:12bobdaduckRestrict level selection, I'm thinking?
00:23:13sam686min/max only skips level on /next (the default when level ends)
00:23:37raptoroh ok
00:23:49bobdaduckCould one still acess a level from admin level if it was outside the bounds?
00:23:52sam686if the next level isn't in the min/max range, it is skipped..
00:23:56raptorso when a level ends, if the current players don't meet the min/max criteria it's skipped
00:23:58raptoryes that
00:24:20sam686a level changer and admin can still access any listed level..
00:24:30bobdaduckokay
00:24:41sam686the min/max only applies to /next and when the level ends..
00:26:27sam686in bitfighter.ini, [Host], MaxPlayers, that one restricts max players joining in a server... (the level specific min/max players only does /next level skipping)
00:27:08bobdaduckokey
00:27:12bobdaduckaight I gotta go

20:46:47raptorwould you like to do some play testing?
20:47:26sam686ok
20:53:18sam686there is still a possible /idle hack (instead of waiting 5 seconds, press P to instantly respawn without -1 in bitmatch) http://sam6.25u.com/upload/text1210/121013_15-10-14.txt
20:54:16raptorhmmm
20:54:18raptorgok
20:57:16raptorgot a segfault
20:57:17sam686umm /prev command have a problem (or maybe the previous level might have killed your server)
20:57:34raptortry again, and i'll get a trace
20:58:34sam686its a level right before test_afterburner, i think
20:58:58raptorhttp://pastie.org/5054187
20:59:33sam686i see levelFileName="test2.level"
21:00:21sam686I guessing a levelgen problem...
21:01:02raptorhttp://pastie.org/5054200
21:01:09raptor^^ that's the level and levelgen

22:41:04Watusimoto_I think that when you have the green shield around you, that time should not count towards getting your fast energy recharge
22:41:25Watusimoto_right now, players will just sit tight in their protect cocoon waiting for full energy

22:47:18Watusimoto_I'm getting emails with these commits, so it might not be logbot
22:47:23Watusimoto_might be google
22:47:30raptoryeah, it's google...
22:47:41sam686how many of emails of this?
22:48:08Watusimoto_they're digests, so i got one before, expecting anohter now
22:48:33Watusimoto_well, I fixed the crash, but now the levelgens just don't show up
22:48:37Watusimoto_odd
22:48:44raptorthat was already like that for sam's levels
22:49:23Watusimoto_sorry, the loadout zones don't show. the script creates levelgens and repairs. the repairs do show
22:49:47raptormaybe pushing a commit will stop this cycle of insanity
22:51:39raptorWatusimoto_: you're still committing windows line endings... i'm sorry to say
22:52:18raptoroh wait, so are you sam686...
22:52:48sam686I think it might only be my merges doing it, or maybe my copy and paste..
22:53:06Watusimoto_I have eol enabled!!!!!!!!!!!
22:53:08BFLogBot Commit: f247041582cc | Author: buckyballreaction | Message: Fix line endings of a file... just to try and get Google Code commit hooks to be quiet..
22:54:42raptorwell for both of you to analyze:
22:54:53raptorhere is about half of the line endings that are bad: http://pastie.org/5054653
22:55:52raptorlots of Lua stuff...
22:56:06raptori bet the eol plugin isn't doing what you think it's doing Watusimoto_
22:56:25Watusimoto_Obviously not
22:56:32Watusimoto_I think it is fixing my line endings
22:56:35Watusimoto_but it isn't
22:56:48Watusimoto_the question is is it supposed to do what I think it does
22:56:58raptorhaha
22:57:19raptori thought the fix was to change vc++ to just use unix line endings
22:57:20Watusimoto_it's supposed to make line endings into whatever you;ve set it for, isn't it?
22:57:26Watusimoto_I've done that
22:57:33raptori don't know, i haven't used that plugin before
22:57:33Watusimoto_which is why most commits are correct
22:58:04sam686I used to get some mixed line ending warning on my visual studio, often when updating to newer commits, still did earliear today and I often just ignore..
22:58:31Watusimoto_http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/EolExtension
22:59:24raptorand you are using LF>
22:59:26raptor?
22:59:41raptorand native = LF?
22:59:57raptordefault native = LF, i guess
23:00:23Watusimoto_yes, always lf
23:00:32raptoralso: only-consistent = False ?
23:00:45Watusimoto_I wonder if we need an .hgeol file???
23:00:57sam686I also often make sure to avoid one giant remove all lines, all all lines on my commits, which often meant line ending changing..
23:01:08Watusimoto_oh sorry, I misunderstood
23:01:16sam686(all all = "add all" i meant)
23:01:17Watusimoto_I have only eol= in my config file
23:02:01Watusimoto_ah
23:02:05Watusimoto_I see the problem, perhaps
23:02:13Watusimoto_The only-consistent value tells the eol extension whether it should only do line ending conversion for files with consistent line endings (that is, files containing \r\n OR \n line endings, but not both). The default value is True, on the assumption that the user knows what he or she is doing if a file has mixed line endings.
23:02:35Watusimoto_maybe I cannot rely on that default, as we want False. Their assumption is incorrect in my case.

23:03:45Watusimoto_ok, updated config file... we'll see if this helps
23:03:53Fordcarshey
23:04:06sam686oh, I made one line ending problem on ShreenShooter.cpp, that was me copying from one line ending .c file into a different line ending .cpp file... I want that to paste it as the same line ending as the rest, or else it produces mixed ending..
23:04:18raptorhi Fordcars

23:12:55raptor starts his code review..
23:13:02Watusimoto_good luck
23:13:09Watusimoto_this is mostly about simplification
23:13:16Watusimoto_but there is more to go
23:14:12Fordcarsif you commit with mercurial, then what?
23:14:27Watusimoto_then raptor reads your code
23:14:35raptorhehe
23:14:52raptorFordcars: could you give more background to your question?
23:15:02sam686or anyone could read your public code http://code.google.com/p/bitfighter/source/list
23:15:14Fordcarsbut it shows up on google code and needs to be tested and stuff before it can be included in BF, right
23:16:12sam686the binaries is only released when we think no more problems is there....
23:16:23raptorso you 'commit', then you 'push' to google code
23:16:36raptorand if we think the game has had enough changes /fixes, we tag it for release
23:16:54Fordcarswhat does commit do then
23:16:58sam686you can't get every revision's binaries, some revision might not even compile without compile errors...
23:17:38Fordcarsand push is kinda upload?
23:17:46raptoryes
23:17:47Fordcarsand commit is kinda save?
23:17:47sam686and usually, you have to compile into binary from a source code, except a few pre-compiled binaries on usually the released revision
23:17:51raptoryes
23:17:55raptorgood analogies
23:17:57Fordcarsah thanks
23:18:20sam686commit = saves to your local clone, push = upload to the online stuff..
23:19:12Fordcarsok thanks. yes
23:19:14sam686obviously for security, only a limited people can push.., to avoid other messed up clone from getting in...
23:19:53Fordcarsbut why if it has to be reviewed to get in BF?

23:20:21raptorWHAT
23:20:23sam686stupid duplicate commit?
23:20:27raptorIS WRONG WITH YOU GOOGLE CODE
23:21:10raptorFordcars: it doesn't have to be reviewed, but that can be enabled (in other words, it must pass a review before the commit is accepted); I just like to pretend to review the code so I understand the recent changes
23:21:20raptorok, i'm going to disable the commit hook...
23:21:24sam686http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/PostCommitWebHooks - I hope your .php script respongs with 200 OK or similar messages..
23:21:25raptorunacceptable noise
23:21:33raptorok
23:21:38raptoroh wait...
23:21:42raptorit might time out first
23:21:53raptorwith loads of commits...
23:22:27Fordcarsok before the commit is accepted to push?
23:22:44raptorFordcars: we don't use commit acceptance
23:22:50sam686maybe the php repeatedly connecting to BFLogBot's connecting may be slow... its like one message per second slow..
23:22:57raptorah...
23:23:00raptorhmmm
23:23:39raptorsam686: you're better at php than I, is there a way to jsut send the 200 OK before sending to bflogbot?
23:24:14FordcarsOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I get it sorry it has to be read before it goes to BF and only specific people can push
23:24:15sam686maybe try just sending every lines to BFLogBot in one connection, not seperate per line..
23:24:55sam686might also need to edit BFLogBot to identify each lines in one conenction...
23:25:01raptorhmmm...
23:25:12raptoryes, i could do that...
23:26:46raptorok, turned off commit hooks until i process the stuff better...
23:27:13Fordcarsk it actually recorded commits?
23:27:40raptorFordcars: we're talking about a separate issue with the logbot now...
23:27:41raptorsorry
23:27:53FordcarsI know
23:28:03raptorok
23:28:08raptorthen what are you asking?
23:28:31sam686as for commits, it only commits to your local clone,. until you push or other pull from your clone..
23:28:45sam686anyone could clone or pull from our bitfighter code..
23:28:57FordcarsI just learned that LogBot actually displayed commits
23:28:59Fordcarsyes
23:31:28Fordcarsoh wait does BFLogBot: Commit: actually mean commit to bitfighter code
23:31:56Fordcarsdoes BFLogBot Commit: actually mean commit to BF code
23:31:58Fordcarsdoes BFLogBot Commit: actually mean commit to BF code

23:32:52Fordcarsdoes BFLogBot Commit: actually mean commit to BF code
23:33:00raptoryes, logbot only displays commits that were pushed to the main bitfighter repository
23:33:15FordcarsOk sorry got funky
23:33:29Fordcarsyeah it makes sens now lol sorry
23:33:35raptorno problem

23:38:21Fordcarslol
23:38:30raptorok that test failed..
23:38:44Fordcarswas that supposed to be 1 connection
23:39:07raptoruhh... i menat to turn it on for one commit test...
23:39:14raptorand it went back to crazy
23:39:19raptor*meant
23:39:46sam686google code sends to http:// some.php file in only one big connection, then .php trying to send each commit to BFLogBot on lots of seperate connection (one per line)
23:40:05Fordcarsyes
23:40:14Fordcarsbut what is the problem
23:40:46sam686problem might be, the http connection times out because the .php script takes so long on re-connecting a lot of times to BFLogBot
23:41:02Fordcarsit times out?
23:41:34sam686then the google code thinks it times out and never made it to the .php script and retryes (when the .php script actually got it)
23:41:37raptorok time to fix that...
23:42:31Fordcarsok so it sends a double
23:42:56Fordcarsmaybe just google code problem
23:42:59sam686yes, because of the google code thinks it timed out and send it again later..
23:43:23sam686one solution is to make our .php go faster and get done faster..
23:43:31raptori'm doing it!
23:43:42Fordcarsok thanks
23:44:00sam686because reconnecting to BFLogBot slows down to one line per second..
23:44:24Fordcarsbut it this really a important
23:45:05Fordcarswhy does it do commits all at the same time
23:45:13sam686not really important, but the BFLogBot repeated flood of 20 commits is annoying...
23:46:17Fordcarsbut why 20 commits?
23:46:18sam686oh and why does that .php script have a "usleep(1500000);"?
23:46:36raptori'm fixing!
23:46:40sam686it sleeps for 1.5 second for each commits?
23:46:53raptorye syes - i'll do that in the bot instead
23:46:54Fordcarslol that is the time for each line
23:47:28Fordcarsok I get it now
23:48:41sam686I have a way to test BFLogBot, ssh to bitfighter.org (with your login usename password), then telnet localhost 25959
23:50:34Fordcarsk
23:54:23Fordcarsahh BF keeps crashing
23:54:56sam686which operating system (windows / mac ppc / mac intel) are you using?
23:55:56Fordcarswindows xp my bro gave it too me
23:56:04Fordcarsmy mac is for coding
23:56:21sam686using version 017b?
23:56:26Fordcarsyep
23:56:30sam686and when does it crash?
23:56:54Fordcarsit crashes when I join a server or quit, but sometimes it doesn't crash
23:57:38Fordcarsbut I think it only crashes when I open BF for the first time since my computer was sleeping or shut down
