12:51:52raptorhi
12:52:29Little_Applequestion! what is bitfighter's default aspect ratio?
12:52:35raptor1:1
12:53:00raptorbut if you mean virtual resolution, then it is 800x600
12:53:01Little_Apple has a dumb look on his face
12:53:04Little_Appleoh ok.
12:53:53raptori may understand aspect ratios differently than you do:
12:54:08raptorI understand them as a ratio to apply to the original resolution
12:54:39raptorso if the original resolution was 600x600, and i applied a ratio of 4:3, then the output resolution is 800x600
12:55:20raptorbut our original is 800x600 and we apply a 1:1 scale, unless you do fullscreen stretched mode
12:55:29raptorin which case it's all funky

18:49:58BFLogBot Commit: f48bfe2aa451 | Author: watusimoto | Message: Joystick button rendering almost working again... you can see real progress on the Options>Input page. Buttons now have labels, but the special labels (like for PS) are not yet there. Spacing seems to be about right, and vertical centering has been fixed. Also, unused methods have been removed.

19:28:52raptori like to hop i like to hop i like to hop on top of pop
19:31:15raptorstop! you must not hop on pop!
19:38:33bobdaduckwut
19:38:35bobdaduckxD
19:40:11raptorbobdaduck: would it make more sense to reduct the bot options to just 2: MIN PLAYERS and FORCE BALANCE ?
19:40:32raptor*reduce
19:40:33bobdaduckunless you're going to add an "advanced server options menu"
19:40:58raptorsee... people keep telling me to make it simpler, but i don't know how
19:41:26bobdaduckin the hostgame menu: auto add bots
19:41:30bobdaduckthat's the only option needed.
19:41:47raptoruh, what about how many?
19:42:03bobdaduckdefault auto balance teams, default enough bots to match players
19:43:31raptoryes but
19:43:33raptorhow many?
19:43:55bobdaduckif there is only one player, make it so there are four players in-game.
19:44:14bobdaduckotherwise just add bots to balance teams.
19:44:47raptorhmm
19:45:02raptorso you don't think people will want to specify how many total players a game should have?
19:45:19raptori've seen some games where the option is just: MIN PLAYERS
19:45:30raptorif greater than 0, then it adds bots up to that number
19:47:54bobdaduckcould work
19:48:24bobdaduckBut we should just have a auto-add bots yes no and then just rail people into one standard option. If they really care let them change it in the .ini
19:51:01raptori'm having a hard time thinking that'll be enough for people - in all of my mutliplayer + bots gaming experience, I always wanted to edit the number of bots, and was glad it was easy to do so in the menus
19:51:54bobdaduckWe can let people do that in an in-game menu. "add bots"
19:52:34raptorright now, adding or subtracting bots turns off the auto-balancing
19:52:43raptorbecause otherwise you'll be fighting the system
19:56:08bobdaducknot a big deal
19:59:31raptorkaen: do you have thoughts on this matter?
19:59:46raptormy honest opinion is that having a 'min players' option would be more useful than not
20:00:12raptorbut i'm also a type of person who loves to have control over configuration..
20:00:41bobdaduckwe'll let people.
20:00:43bobdaduckIn the ini.
20:01:04bobdaduckWe want to make the game as easy as possible for new players, as I understand per watusio
20:01:28bobdaduckAnd even with descriptions it still adds a small layer of complexity
20:18:10kaenI think it's being over-thought.
20:18:59kaenchange "robot balancing" to "robots balance teams" and drop the "force team balance" option if you really think it's too complicated.
20:19:44kaenthe only source of confusion for me is the fact that there are two team-balance related options. other than that it's as simple as you could make it imo
20:23:41bobdaduckwhats wrong with this:
20:23:41bobdaduckfor a = 0, 5 do
20:23:56bobdaducklevelgen error: function arguments expected near 'for'
20:25:20kaensyntax error above it
20:25:25bobdaduckahh
20:25:26bobdaduckthanks
