00:00:05raptoralso, cmake28 comes with the epel repo already in the instructions
00:00:07Watusimototoo late... but I can unadjust
00:00:34Watusimotounadjusted
00:00:34raptorside question, should bursts explode on impact with teammates?
00:00:48WatusimotoI.... suppose so...
00:01:04Watusimotoit kind of makes sense that it would
00:01:12raptorbecause they do now, but don't when you hit yourself with your own burst
00:01:31fordcarsMaybe the should always explode with anybody?
00:01:36Watusimotook, here is a problem
00:01:43Watusimotomy alerter widget is telling me no one is on
00:01:49Watusimotobut they are
00:01:54raptorits' becasue master is down
00:02:10Watusimotothe website alerter is up
00:02:23raptorthat's because it writes the last setting to file
00:02:33raptorand only on connection complete..
00:02:43Watusimotowell, I restarted, it's working now, will monitor and see if it continues to work
00:02:55Watusimotook... did my fix work?
00:03:02raptorwhat was your fix?
00:03:13Watusimotodealing with levels that have been deleted from pleiades
00:03:47Watusimotono
00:10:16fordcarstempVector empty in offsetPolygon? geomutils.cpp:1374
00:10:41fordcarsSecond time my server crashes :(

00:12:51Nothing_Muchfordcars: I think they're doing something with the master server right now
00:14:12raptorfordcars: what revision are you on?
00:15:55raptorWatusimoto: I've been thinking that we should release 019a in a month or so - because we have plenty of bugs/polish to do
00:16:12Watusimotothen or sooner, depending how things go
00:16:39raptordo you have any large refactors planned? Those seem to not be good for releasing quickly...
00:16:47Watusimotono
00:16:54WatusimotoI'm all about fixing bugs
00:17:09raptorok, me too... and maybe minor features
00:18:40fordcarsraptor
00:18:46raptorah ha! GameManager has been born
00:18:49raptorfordcars
00:18:56fordcarsWhat revision?

08:56:14watusimotoit is 9:55Am here
08:56:23fordcarsWow
08:56:29watusimotovs73nx: what time is it where you are?
08:56:32vs73nxits 19:56 in australia
08:56:36fordcarsI think I have to go to bed :3
08:56:46vs73nxi might have to soon
08:56:49watusimotoyou are in australia? what part?
08:57:04watusimotoraptor will be on in about 6 hours, btw
08:57:13vs73nxsydney, it makes communicating with mentors a pain :)
08:57:28watusimotoI went to University of New South Wales for a time
08:57:41watusimotoand later, lived and worked in Sydney
08:58:16vs73nxoh thats nice, aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi
08:58:22vs73nx:D
08:58:31watusimotoyup, that's about what I remember!
08:59:09vs73nxanyways how long is raptor on for, i might be able to catch him at about 6 am
09:00:43watusimotoit depends on his schedule, which varies a bit -- he is on Mountain Time in the US, and he usually signs on around 8 or 9 AM there, and is on and off until the night
09:01:24watusimoto(I was just looking at a map of Sydney...)

09:03:26vs73nxcmake OpenGLES support...
09:03:40vs73nxit builds but it doesnt work on by system
09:03:46watusimotoah yes, well, I can't help you much with that, I'm osrry to say
09:04:30vs73nxthats fine while im waiting i am working with some experiments with dynamically generated bytecode.
09:05:00watusimotovs73nx: I pinged you on a private channel -- did you see that?
09:43:41vs73nxdoes anyone know if bitfighter has a command line option to enable more log messages into the console window... it would be handy so i can check if the bitfighter executable is REALLY using gles...
10:04:20vs73nxwatusimoto: do i need to link to gles 1.1 or gles 2?
10:04:36watusimotovs73nx: I'm sorry -- I don't know
10:04:52vs73nxok then ill try with gles2 then
10:05:05watusimotoas for the logging, look in the INI file -- there are lots of options that are deactivated by default
10:05:12vs73nxmaybe thats why the graphics are screwey
10:05:18watusimotobut they are mostly related to networking and such
10:05:21vs73nxok
10:05:33watusimotoI don't think we have any good graphics logging options
10:06:07watusimotoyes, I would go with gles2 in the absence of any real information
10:06:25vs73nxwhy not :)
10:12:05vs73nxgles2 same result

18:56:38vs73nxsorry wrong person, raptor wanted to
19:02:19Watusimotohi kaen -- I'm trying to get some happier messages out of pleiades, but not sure where to start... where can I find the logic that gets run when the client sends a rating to pleiades
19:04:25Watusimotoah, the LevelsController
19:04:36Watusimotofunction rate looks promising
19:05:45kaenhttps://github.com/kaen/pleiades/blob/master/app/Model/Level.php#L152
19:05:58kaen^ the rate method in the Level model
19:06:15kaenlooking at that code, it should already have nice error messages
19:06:42kaenthe human-readable error messages should go in the body of the response
19:08:16vs73nx Quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
19:09:11vs73nx has joined
19:10:15Watusimotothat's the thing... when I did some searches through the code, I saw lots of nice error messages
19:10:27Watusimotobut when I test it, I get things like "bad request"
19:10:41kaenhmm
19:10:47Watusimotoso I'm trying to see what I'm doing, and how the code is likely to respond to see where the problem might be
19:11:13WatusimotoI think something unexpected is happening
19:12:23kaenI have to agree
19:12:54kaenlet me have a look at the server logs
19:13:47Watusimotothis is most likely the error I'm triggering:
19:13:47Watusimotoarray_push($this->validationErrors, 'You can not rate your own level');
19:13:56Watusimotowhich has a nice message
19:14:14Watusimotobut that isn't arriving for some reason
19:14:38Watusimotolet me look at the http request that's being generated to see if I can reproduce outside of bitfighter
19:14:46kaenok
19:14:52Watusimotoit is also possible you are sending a nice message that's getting mangled
19:18:17Watusimotoyou are using post
19:18:43Watusimotowhich is fine but I need ot figure out how to create posts externally
19:20:12raptorvs73nx: hello there
19:20:32vs73nxhi so did you have a bone to pick about my changes?
19:20:45kaenI'm having luck with this in chrome, Watusimoto: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rest-console/cokgbflfommojglbmbpenpphppikmonn
19:21:08Watusimotogreat! I found a plugin for firefox, but I already have chrome open
19:21:21raptorvs73nx: yes - let me pull up your changes..
19:22:04vs73nxwait i need to get rid of libfind macros which accidentally made its way into the repo
19:22:50raptorah yes - that was one of my questions..
19:23:32vs73nxyeah i knew that you would find it a problem
19:23:40vs73nxit seemd like a good idea at the time
19:24:43raptorso you got it to link with your glesv1
19:24:51raptorand game starts
19:24:56raptorbut you get black screen
19:24:58raptorright?
19:25:52vs73nxno i checked with std::cout << glGetString(GL_VERSION) << "\n"; and it said 3.0 Mesa 9.2.1, which was not the version of gles that i linked to.
19:26:00vs73nxso black screen
19:26:10vs73nxit might work with glesv3
19:26:28vs73nxglesv2 gave me same black screen so glesv3 might work
19:26:42raptorglesv2 should not even link
19:26:46raptoronly gles 1
19:26:58kaenbah, that extension won't let you set the User-Agent header, Watusimoto
19:27:09Watusimotois that needed?
19:27:32vs73nxgles2 linked though...
19:27:50raptorif you have a linked binary, can you run 'ldd bitfighter' on it?
19:27:54raptorthen pastie the output
19:28:01Watusimotook, well maybe it doesn't matter
19:28:09Watusimotowe have these two lines in bitfighter:
19:28:10WatusimotoresponseCode = req.getResponseCode();
19:28:10WatusimotoresponseBody = req.getResponseBody();
19:28:17WatusimotoresponseCode is 400
19:28:31WatusimotoresponseBody is Bad Request
19:29:18Watusimotothe url I'm sending to is "bitfighter.org/pleiades/levels/rate/89/up"
19:29:27Watusimotoand the usename and login are correct
19:29:36Watusimotothe login name is the same as that used to upload the level
19:30:13Watusimotoso that code I pasted above seems to be triggered, but the error message specified there is not being sent back to bitfighter for some reason
19:30:48vs73nxhmmm turns out it linked to gles1 not gles 2... http://pastie.org/8540355
19:32:04raptorexcellent!
19:32:07raptorthat's what we want
19:32:17raptorso the black screen stuff is probably a coding error on our part
19:32:17vs73nxbut still black screen ;(
19:32:30raptorso I won't hold it against you :)
19:32:40vs73nxmight try fixing it later in my own time
19:33:04vs73nxso can i submit it?
19:34:02raptori think it's just about ready -
19:34:18raptori'd say do the following and i'll mark you complete:
19:34:26raptor1. remove the unneeded findlibs module
19:34:42raptor2. add back in all the various search paths and library names that gles 1 could be
19:34:50raptor3. verify it still compiles and links against gles 1
19:34:55kaenok, Watusimoto, I think I've got it pinned down. I'll ping you when I've pushed the fix
19:35:06raptorthat's it
19:35:13Watusimotogreat
19:40:04raptori'll be back in about an hour or so
19:40:10vs73nxanyone know how to ignore a file in hg... i accidentally did some trivial changes (added new line etc) to videosystem.cpp when i was debugging.

22:37:27Watusimotokaen, before I go off and do something heroic, why is the level uploader (who may be different than the author) prohibited from voting on the level they uploaded?
22:42:45kaenbecause I assume that you uploaded the level because you consider it good. The author field is only for administrators, so being able to vote on a map that you uploaded but didn't occur to me.

23:06:43Watusimotosam686: is this an active bug (you reported it on the bitfighter 019 bugs list):
23:06:44Watusimoto4. Some levels crash servers/hosting game while loading level due to bot zone generating problem, now fixed, and some servers with that fix (level "bittown v2" had a bot zone crash too) stays up good.
23:07:05Watusimotoit's the now fixed and stays up good that make me suspect this is a non-current issue

23:29:13raptorand that 1 is dependent on a bug I opened at clipper forums
