I just registered for this forum. The first thing I noticed are the CAPTCHAs. I had to solve two of them to register. The second one is a bit confusing, but obviously, I have passed it.

I was asked to provide at least 11 numbers, so I tried to type in: "0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10". But I noticed that the input field does not allow such a long string.
Then I came to the idea that not 11 numbers were meant, but 11 digits instead, so I typed in "01234567890". And I passed.

But this is not a correct answer to the question, because "0123457890" is just one (very large) number, but with 11 digits. The answer I tried to type in is a correct one.
Obviously somebody got the difference between number and digit wrong:
In our decimal system, digits are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. A number is simply a string of digits of any length, for example 3, 10, 0040122345, 25, etc.

The CAPTCHA should ask for a whole number which has at least 11 digits. The CAPTCHA should be something like "Just enter 11 random digits", that would be totally unabigious (I hope).

i can see how this would be confusing… i think the change you're suggesting is a good idea.

I was the culprit.

I changed it to be more specific. But maybe I'm now confusing the layman...

The bigger problem is, of course, that captchas suck.

whats funny is that bots still get through.

I am guessing most bot spammers can only handle whats the default settings is for registering in forum. With our forum registration having a few things different from all other forums, it make it much more difficult for the bots to handle such differences from the defaults.

I don't think the people who makes bot spammer can't make the robot think and fill in correct answers.

yeah i have great difficultly with reading the captchas maybe im being retarded it usually takes me 3 tries minaml before i can get it there reaslly needs to be easier Captchas.
