Lost Bitfighter maps

I accidentally deleted my bitfighter levels folder last night. Is there any chance Bitfighter stores level files when they're hosted by an individual (ie. non-dedicated server)?

Re: Lost Bitfighter maps

The client only stores the current pieces in view, at that time, in volatile memory only. Sorry. :(

However, depending on your system (and specifically the filesystem) you *can* recover lost files that are deleted via software data recover methods. The first thing you need to do is not to do anything else that involves saving, deleting, moving, or copying files.

If you're on Windows, there are easy software tools like 'Recuva' that do this. (see: http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva/)

On mac, you may need to resort to file carving, which can be intense. (see: photorec [http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec]) I'm not sure what else is freeware on mac...

Re: Lost Bitfighter maps

Yeah, I've been trying some mac freeware recovery apps, unfortunately while they seem to be able to recover documents I deleted weeks ago they couldn't recover documents I had deleted within minutes.

Thanks for the help, though!

I would go on sam686's server (Sam Test) and browse through it - he has lots of maps and allows /getmap

Re: Lost Bitfighter maps

Do you have "Time Machine" running? If you do, you can EASILY get back any files but opening the app.

Re: Lost Bitfighter maps

It's a command that, on some servers, allows you to download levels.
