PS3 Sixaxis Joystick Problem!

Okay I am having some really really big trouble with the PS3 Joystick.
The PS3 is Dualshock 3 Sixaxis and I am 100% sure this is a PS3 Controller because I play it with my PS3 all the time. It is wireless, but I need to charge it sometimes.

1. I get my, "Cord" (The cord where you plug into your PS3 and your controller starts charging or something) and then I put that cord into the USB slot.

2. I plug in one of the other side of the cord to the PS3 Controller and it said installing hardrive.

3. It said it was complete and it noticed the controller. It even said on the Computer saying that it was a PS3 Controller.

4. I look at the 4 blinking red lights that are flashing, they never stop flashing.

5. I press the PS button in the middle and nothing happens.

6. I unplug it.

7. It says that the PS3 Controller has been removed.

8. Then, I press the PS button.

9. My PS3 in my living room turns on.

I have a Windows 7 64-Bit

Have you used this controller setup with any other PC games? Before we start addressing Bitfighter-specific issues, we should be sure everything else is working properly.

Go to your windows control panel, game controllers, and make sure it works there. If it doesn't work, try pressing PS button while plugged in.

If it doesn't work at all, then windows might be using wrong or missing drivers.

There are several ways to get PS3 controller to work on windows.
http://www.davieslim.com/ps3/using-ps3- ... n-windows/ Method B is the easiest to use if it works. If using Method B, then Bitfighter joystick mode need to be set to "PS2 dualshock USB" to get it to fully work.

You may search for other ways here: http://www.google.com/search?q=Using+PS ... in+Windows

As for other operating system, some newer versions of Linux easily supports PS3 Six-Axis without any changes to driver or config for system and Bitfighter.

sam, don't you use a ps3 controller with bitfighter? i remember playing games against you with clone bots, and we were both able to use our controllers fine.

I used to have a PS3 and PS3 controllers for about 2 weeks, but now not anymore because of my brother is going off to somewhere with it. I still know how to use it in windows when I ever get the PS3 controller again.

Oh I saw Hugo online about 11 hours before my post, I forgot to tell them to look at this topic, and see if it worked.

As i said, ps3 controller fully works that way, all buttons work, though I found the start and select buttons to be reversed. Most older versions of bitfighter, and maybe the old "Zap" might work with this method.

As for Linux ps3 sixaxis a new joystick button / axis profile was added for Bitfighter 015a, 2 buttons won't work in Bitfighter 015a, but later got all buttons to work for next version of Bitfighter.
