Hi this is amgine here to post some problems/bugs that asi was playing with the S_bot.bot file have noticed

1 In rabbit once they get the flag they dont flee from the other players and bots (note i had a idea here you could program the robot to stay in a range a certin distance away from the flag once it steals it

2. in soccer mode they dont try to score goals they just attack he other people

3 in nexus mode they do still flags from other people but dont try to return those flags to the nexus (The only time they do score ais if they are attacking somone over the nexus when it is open)

4. S_bot.bot has a tendacy to cheat (alot) and go though force feilds when if is not he same color as the forcefeild

5 S_bot somtimes gets stuck on force feilds and just keeps hitting the Feild over and over again

6_ Bots on certin levels just drive into walls and stay there fro some reason

(note i will add more as i find them.)

thx amgine

Hi, thanks for the observations. Bots are far from perfect, and are in many ways a work-in-progress (but have come very far from where we started.)

I'll respond only to one specific point, and that is bots cheating by going through forcefields. I do not think this is possible, as bots are bound by the same "rules of the game" as regular players are.

All the other issues you raised are ones of strategy, appropriate goal setting, etc., which you correctly point out could be improved.

when he says "cheating through force fields" i think he means runs into a force field until a ship from the other side holds it open for the bot. please correct me if I'm wrong.

It seems to me like point 4 and point 5 contradict each other…

I think he means he experiences them both, not that both happen at the same time
