Shrink mode

hi this is amgine here to suggest another game mode shrink match i thank you for being patient with me and i hope all these modes get put in some day. here is how it works.

1. match starts like a normal bit match.

2 however when a player becomes any place below 1st there ship becomes smaller and faster. if they are ahead they are larger and slower.

7 minimum sizes from 2nd to 8th and lower respectively.

3 here is a sample table of values.

8th and lower 50% smaller and faster

7th 40% smaller and faster

6th 35% smaller and faster

5th 30% smaller and faster

4th 20% smaller and faster

3rd 10% smaller and faster

2nd 5% smaller and faster

3. kills = points

what do you guys think

cheers amgine.

Re: Shrink mode

Not a big fan of this idea, amgine. Ship size is equal no matter what mode you play and I think we should keep it that way, for consistency if nothing else.

Why wasn't my reason valid? Keeping consistency is important for maintaining balance and limiting player confusion.

And just because an element works in other games doesn't mean it is a good fit for Bitfighter. I like some of your other ideas but I, personally, think this one is pushing it.

Re: Shrink mode

problem is is people are so concerned about BF being "consistent they are to closed minded to adding to BF the only time Bf gets new features is whne a dmins makes a exuctive desicon.

overall adding to BF is good maybe moving ahead to osmthing that will become a new thing that expands / is beyond the original zap would be great.

BF FOREVER!

this idea +2^2^2^2^2............................

Dude, you took my comment and twisted into something else entirely.

I completely agree with your last paragraph. I am not opposed to change, in fact I encourage it.

Obviously adding in a new feature will make that inconsistent with old features. That's not my point. My point is that not everything in Bitfighter should be modifiable. There are some components that need to remain rigid in order to provide a basis for gameplay. The Bitfighter ship is incredibly iconic and representative of Bitfighter's retro appearance. Changing that simply to add in a new game mode seems a bit extreme to me. There are other ways to enjoy the game and support new developments without making drastic modifications. Does this make sense?

Re: Shrink mode

Since when was bitfighter ever a democracy? Of course all the current features in bitfighter are in place due to a developer authorizing it. I mean, imagine what would happen if they implemented every single proposed idea that ever occurred on these fourms.

Re: Shrink mode

so it seems that there was a huge keg party in space where a poor bitfighter ship gave into peer pressure and drank too much alcohol and is throwing up all over the place while barry the red turret is urinating on him. thankfully the giant mace windu ship has come to shield him from this golden shower with his lightsaber. and dumb old tommy the turret has passed out and slept through the whole ordeal right next to barry.
Hee-ho!
