Sort by date and author

I think this has been posted a couple times, but worth talking about again. It would be great if Bitfighter level menus had a search function. Like, an actual search bar, in addition to the "jump to map by letter" feature. Could the search look through map files to find text in the title, description and on lineitems?

I would also love to see a sort by tool, allowing entries to be sorted by:

- Date: When levels were last edited
- Author: Who is credited
- Engineer: Enabled vs not enabled
- Ratings: If the search tool could somehow be connected to pleiades, maybe have it connect ratings from maps on the site to maps in the folder, then the search could find maps with high ratings.

As someone who has 2500 maps, this would be quite helpful for finding gems. My current method is simply memory, which isn't all that great. ;)

Thoughts?

Re: Sort by date and author

Are you talking about on the edit menu, or when selecting levels in-game?

Both would be nice, but I'm really just intending for the level selection menu while hosting a server.

Some of these would be easy, all seem like they'd be useful!

Can you create a ticket in google code for these? It would be best if each idea were a separate request, then then can be handled and discussed modularly.

Sorry for being slow. They've been added to google code. Thanks!

As in, a search bar? Advanced Search? We could have one at the top, and Advanced Search in another menu. Heck, we could also implement I'm feeling lucky.

To be fair, this is currently possible. To quickly search for "amg," press "a" then "m" immediately after. It'll narrow results to "am ..." which would include "amg."

Re: Sort by date and author

No, I guarantee you the search function can jump to secondary letters. At least on my Mac anyway, I suppose it's hypothetically possible there's a difference in our versions. But try this: Press the first letter, then press the second [i]really fast,[/] immediately after pressing the first.

So to search for "Detour" you could press "D" then "e" quickly afterward.

Confirmed on Windows too, it works. Just type the level name normally, it should show up :)
