Engeneering speed zones?

Hi this is amgine here with a another idea for the game. (that everyone will probaly reject and vote poorly like all my other threads.)

so in the most recent addidtion to bitfighter you are now able to engineer teleports but a idea i had is what if you could engeneer speed zones ( the red arrows.)

1. they would either a. have a bunch of preset values ewhich you would select from ie

1 = little
2 =500
3 =1000
4 =1500
5 =2000
6 = 2500
7 =3000
8 = 3500
9 = 4000
10 = 4500
11 = 5000

or b you would enter you power value that you wanted

2. either you would use
a q and e to rotate the arrow
b you would input a angle value

3. once on screen they would be destroyed by being shot x amount

what do you guys think cheers amgine

We don't want the game to become the level Editor!

Re: Engeneering speed zones?

Let's see how teleporters work out. If we add another engineered object, speedzones would probably be it.

Only if the Teleporters work's good. :D

Off-shoot idea: what about engineering energy items? They have less of an impact on level design but still influence strategy.

That is.. ridiculous. The amount of energy it takes to make an energy item would instantly be regained as you would be sitting on a newly made energy item :D

As for the speed zones, I don't think you should be able to set the power. Just make it a base power that every engineered speedzone would have :D

1 - Yep I dont Think this is very good. IF you are there. the energy item could be regenerate instantly and you cant die.

2 - Maybe Whe Dont Need to Configurate the Speedzone manualy.
the power will be 2000. and you cant change it.

The point of engineering an energy item isn't for your own benefit, silly. :) It's to aid your teammates. I think that's the primary purpose of the engineer-a-teleport tool as well... either that or just due to laziness of traveling across the map, haha.

Re: Engeneering speed zones?

bad responce of the n° 1. :lol:

but enginering a energy item could create it instantly and will be regenerated instanly. or could take 20 seconds

Engineered items don't regenerate. I was referring more to the fact that you'd use the energy item as soon as you make it.

Re: Engeneering speed zones?

Since the engineered speed zones (I'm assuming) can be destroyed from either teams of the game, I have little complaints for them. I think there would be more problems with the teleporters because they require two ends of the gateway (wormhole). In comparison, speed zones don't need to cooperate with another one of its own kind. Personally, I'm more for speed zones than teleporters. Teleporters can seem like cheating sometimes; it's so easy to take advantage of them.
