Increase PolyWall Vertex limit

in an almost related topic, could the poly limit for polywalls be increased? i've run into a few problems with the limit a number of times and it would be nice if it were to be made larger.

The vertex limit *is* kinda dumb. It wasn't in Zap, and plus if you knew how to fudge with level code you could make more vertices. It's an artificially set limitation of the BF editor ... I just don't see the point.

This merits further study. It will require changing some network stuff I think, but it is doable. I opened an issue:

how about giving forcefeilds limits to >infinity its hard whne you need a long poly wall and it falls short.......

We could increase the vertex limit, but doing so to absurd lengths would encourage people to make levels that are slow to load.

However, I think we could accommodate this when we transition to 019.

I think RTS is the first level I've ever made that's "slow to load", and it still loads in about 5 seconds. It makes more sense to have a higher vertex limit than it does to make five barriers because one won't reach far enough.

Why not just make another PolyWall? Or are you making something where the ship needs to move around inside it?

thats what i've done in the past. it would just be nice to not have to do that. for OCD's sake.

Rave party only takes about three seconds!

...If it loads at all.
