2-Player mode

Hi. I would like to ask about a 2 player mode
It would split the screen in half, so one person on the top screen and another on the bottom. Diff controls for player 1 and player 2

e.g. player 1 uses WASD for movement, player 2 can use Left down right up
I wanna blow my brothers ship up!
Play my new level! Two different teams fight over a nexus: One mainly defends while the other attacks! is fun

watusimoto, didn't you configure a kind of 2-person mode for your children? Something about using two Bitfighter windows?

Re: 2-Player mode

Seems like it would be relatively easy with the use of a joystick or a gamepad...

Re: 2-Player mode

Right now, the only way to have 2 player on one computer is using a gamepad or joystick, and running 2 bitfighter clients in windowed mode at the same time, one have input set to joystick, the other use keyboard and mouse (or a second gamepad/joystick).

Having 2 players share the same keyboard may not go so well, as holding down some combination of 3 or more buttons will cause all other keyboard buttons not be recognized. Try holding down "W" "S" "D" + other buttons, it may not recognize any other buttons pressed and some computers might BEEP, therefore killing second player on the shared keyboard. But then what about second player aiming and shooting?

Problem with 2 mouse can't be used as 2 players is mostly the Operating system are not designed to give you a second mouse pointer and have control of their own program/games.

Though, with a second mouse and second keyboard, one could use VirtualBox and have it setup to have one of USB mouse and one of USB keyboard go directly into whatever virtualbox is running in it, making it now separate from the other keyboard/mouse.
