LineWidth, colored zones

I think lines with width (similar to barriermakers) would be a nice feature. Colored zones as well.

Though the question of what a thick line would look like remains to be answered. I think it should be solid as it is now through and through.
Colored zones simply will be brightest on the edge as is now with all polygons and barriers (except slipzones).

Re: LineWidth, colored zones

Yes. Absolutely. The resistance I've heard in the past was potential confusion to players (ie. trying to differentiate a goalzone from an artzone on the fly) and potential room for exploits (ex. pretend walls). Frankly, I don't think either is a large concern, but there are folks who do and they're worth discussing.

He wants to be able to change the thickness of lines (a hidden art item) and a zone that does nothing besides stand there an look pretty (as in, not a loadout, goal, slip, etc)
if you're reading this, i'm sorry for how cringe my old posts are. i rarely play BF anymore, but if you ever want to find me, you can catch me on steam, or on discord @ muddy#7969

Re: LineWidth, colored zones

In response to the opposition that such things will confuse players, I would say that if players want a map to be confusing, not having these things really stopped them before

Chess, who dat

Moreover, I didn't advocate for using team colors without them being active teams. As is, the way around that has been to simply add more teams

Re: LineWidth, colored zones

Kaen made a beautiful looking level recently, with non-standard colored wall outlines. When playing, I got confused, and kept flying around the loadout zones (which had the same outline color), thinking they were walls, looking for a place I could change my loadout.

It is entirely possible that I am just easily confused, but it certainly reinforced my argument (to myself)!

I will consider this, thanks for the feedback wat. Legitimate experiences help when considering other (even hypothetical) situations.

That's a strong argument against colored zones. I've considered the possibility but now I have real data. Who needs em..

I will still push for the lineswidth option. I think they could be used to make such levels easier for you by maybe making thicker lines around walls or some such.
