/addbot(s) privileges

The ability to add bots needs to be an admin privilege. It would be great if we could trust players to use it responsibly, but server owners like to keep level change passwords relatively public and our community isn't mature enough to avoid abuse. It's far too easy to ruin a game by adding ten or even a hundred bots simultaneously.

Bitfighter Main() and Bitfighter Sam686 have /maxbots set to around 20 bots, but can still ruin the game, or when one player adds a bot to balance the teams and then the other player kicks it right after.

Without voting system, it is easy to suddenly change map when losing, /setscore 1 when winning, or multiple players fight to change level back and forth, when any or multiple players have level password. /addbot just adds on to the level change problem.
Re: /addbot(s) privileges
You might have a point about making slash commands in general an admin privilege. I only brought up /addbot(s) because I've seen it abused over and over again (on kServ, too) when I haven't seen level change abilities abused the same way.
Re: /addbot(s) privileges
Auto add bots to balance teams. And then restrict bots to command line code like it was in zap. That way when people make dungeons that use bots people can't screw things up.
Control the noobs to dissuade them from their noobish ways.

+1
in zap bots switched teams with player when player switched to team with bot in it. Problem was, if your team has 1 bot, against a team with 2 humans, and you switch to their team, now its 3 humans vs 1 bot, and when you switch back to your team, it is 1 human vs 1 bot and 2 humans. In server Bitfighter Main(), I require vote to change teams.
Re: /addbot(s) privileges
Admins should always be able to do whatever they want. Beyond that, I'm really torn over what it would be nice to allow and what players in the community can handle without ruining games. In the past several days, I've seen players who are usually reasonable completely abuse spawn camping/killing, /addbots, and level changes, to the point where it ruined the game for everyone else on the server. Each time, the offending player (and it was a different player every time) rejoiced in spoiling things for everyone else.

still agree more, although I must ask in what way (gametype, where) did they abuse spawn camping?
Spawn camping not as bad in game like CTF as it is in game like Zapmatch
still, I don't want to drive off-topic. Yes, its nice to allow players to add bots free-ley, but if everyone is cool with their /addbot decision, what would be the punishment of requiring a short vote for it?
Re: /addbot(s) privileges
A line has been added to the .ini to allow hosts to limit the total number of bots on their servers. Also, the default bot script can be changed to prevent players who do not know script names from adding bots. Bots without scripts no longer spawn, preventing abuse in Nexus matches.
It's a patchwork of fixes for a complicated problem, but they should address the major issues.
