Ramming

Sometimes I take armor module and want to ram other ships.

So I take a speed zone or turbo boost.

But it does no damage!

I'm also out of energy...

Re: Ramming

This is actually a pretty cool idea worth looking into.

I'm thinking that when you collide with another ship at high speeds, the ratio of damage between you and the other player would be 1:2. So, if you use turbo (double tap activation key) with 100% energy into the burst of speed, you would ram into the other player, lose 50% of your health(for balancing purposes), and the other person 100%. If the person is wearing armor with full health, he/she of course wouldn't die because his/her health is over 100%. If you wear armor and ram into someone, I think that it would do more damage to the other person, and do less damage to you than when using a non-armored ship. This would make using armor for ramming very beneficial.

Re: Ramming

I think its fine as is there are already a high number of ways to damage people ramming would be over powered as you couls spam the turbo mnodule however adding more knockback relitive to a sips speed when ramming another player would be nice.

Re: Ramming

I don't like it. I like being able to turbo into people and make them fly away. Bitfighter is bouncy!

Re: Ramming

Yeah I think ramming people to knock them back would be nice as a strat in the game more speed more knockback right now its only about 10% transference or less 100% would be interesting....

Re: Ramming

Now I'm thinking of Burnout 3... Great ps2 game where you race but mostly just ram the other racecars till they explode

Re: Ramming

Heh burn out is epic.

Question is would it have any negitive side effects to game play?

1. Would rebound against walls have to be increased.

2. Would this harm the DTB usefulness.

3. Would having more knock back against other ships hinder gameplay instead of helping it?

Just wondering your opinion

Re: Ramming

I'm not sure about ramming, but I do have an idea for a short-range weapon that might be fun... if I ever get to it!

Re: Ramming

Well It would have limited uses in large open maps there wouldn't be much good in knocking other players back but in small hallways there could be good use in using turbo ( which is farily useless.) to knock back the person running away with the flag back into the base.

Another interesting effect is it would make Turbo actually more usable in Soccer.

Re: Ramming

So I don't think ramming should do damage, but I do wish that ships could push each other more. Right now you can't really because they just kind of roll off you/slip out of your way.
BAM! I'm back.

Re: Ramming

I agree I think knocking a player backwards far in a narrow hallway but then being vulnerable to being shot down after words is a fair trade off.

( Note shouldn't his belong in features?)
