OSX Support changes

Howdy all,

Is it time to drop support for OSX 10.4/10.5 (Tiger and Leopard), including the PPC support?

Let me know if anyone still uses these platforms. The current problem we have is that the new gamecontroller support requires at least OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

Thanks!

That hadn't been done yet? Wow, kudos!

I have to say, supporting PPC is awesome, but I guess at some point we have to make some tradeoffs.

I've always thought Bitfighter was cool cause it could run on anything.
And I personally know some people that still use older computers.
Not sure if it would affect any current users though.

FWIW, I finally made the switch to 10.10 this fall after years of running behind, but even then I was on 10.6.8 since 2010. I know a handful of people who are on 10.6.8, but nobody that is still stuck on 10.5, let alone 10.4.

Thanks for letting me know. Any others care to share their OSX systems?

We could easily still support both 64 and 32 bit Intel systems back to OSX 10.6.

I know of many people who use PowerPC macs with a passion; they are at MacRumors: http://forums.macrumors.com/forums/powerpc-macs.145/
I used to be interested in PowerPC Macs. They are quite interesting.
Though these people are only a few out of... millions or billions? Most software doesn't support PPC anymore so if you need to discontinue PPC support then do it. If you can still use older versions of Bitfighter, and have networking work, then people can enjoy Bitfighter with friends on their PowerPC Macs.
