Bitfighter on Facebook

I experimented a bit with making an add on Facebook for Bitfighter. I came up with these statistics. For $1 a day, we can reach 163,459,060 people in four countries who all speak English. Just a nice thought.

Good idea! Who is paying? And if we got even 1000 more people to join bitfighter, we would need to redesign most of our maps to fit many more people, 50+ and so.

Re: Bitfighter on Facebook

OK... even if we do get people, it's not about how many people we can get, it's about how many we can get to be on at one time. I read an article about how Madden had 350,000 people who registered and never return. Sure, 350K is awesome and all, but if they leave it's rather pointless.

As for the advertising, I'm pretty sure the way advertising works is depending on the budget you get more exposure. So a dollar a day would get very little exposure, but somebody might want to check me on this.

Advertising on Facebook is a good idea, though.

Is it worth $10 to find out?

Re: Bitfighter on Facebook

I think even if we only got 100 people it would be worth $10.
Although I am broke, so that could just be my empty pocket talking.

I can almost guarantee $10 will net us 0-1 people.

Re: Bitfighter on Facebook

We should probably also ask ourselves whether or not we really want the kind of person who spends there time clicking on facebook ads. Advertising on gaming sites makes sense; advertising on facebook doesn't seem such a great idea to me.

If we do ads at all, I say not on Facebook. No one clicks ads on there.

Re: Bitfighter on Facebook

I'll make a Facebook page at least, but I need "permission" and to be a "official representative" to make a page about Bitfighter. Is that OK, wat?

Re: Bitfighter on Facebook

We could advertise on Newgrounds' main page if we had Ad banners large enough for both sides of the browser. And I hear that Tom Fulp is enough of a sell out already, to be somewhat within our price-range.

Re: Bitfighter on Facebook

Haven't been able to find anything in terms of advertising on Newgrounds... but Newgrounds is a popular website, I would not think advertising would be easily affordable. But I don't know.
