Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

Double Debris might fit lots of players. This level was in second place of Julgust contest. Loadout zone was slightly changed after that contest.

Mad Cow - an original ZAP level, this level was here a long time ago, but haven't yet seen it played during any Big Battle, except during some breaks in Big Battle.

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

Mad Cow is a tough sell because:

1) the 3-team setup increases the number of enemies you have to contend with

2) the bases offer little retrieve-zone defense

3) the center is asymmetrical with in-game advantage playing out red-blue-yellow

...but I'll put it on the list.

plus its really easy to hold one of two flags, while you wait for a teammate to try and get the other flag for a second.

My stapler. It would be awesome with 20 people at once. :3

...added to the list...

...but may I suggest people look at larger levels and ones that weren't just hosted and played heavily in last months contest?

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

I'm going to assume that when sky_lark said that there would be 9000 people, that he meant there would be 100.

This means we want our levels to be HUGE. Can you even imagine that?

We do NOT want to be caught with only tiny levels if we end up with 200 players here. Goal being to secure more players for the game and all. Heck, most of us are unconsciously accustomed to designing small level. We probably don't even put in six spawn points per team. If we come up with some unforeseen crash because of 30 people spawning off of the same spawn point, I'm going to be ticked.

Galaxy crossover
Solar eclipse
Law of fives
Edshin/Invader Alex had some nice big levels on the scale that we need.

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

I'll be surprised if we get a total of 50 at once, including our community.

But honestly, I may cap the Bitfighter Bash server at some reasonable number. I don't think Bitfighter would be fun with 32 people per team. The only exceptions to that might be ridiculous levels like Power Plant that would suddenly become playable.

I propose a 'ridiculous level' server

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

yes, put power plant in there, incase that becomes playable.

@raptor: im all about ridiculous levels: send me the levels or just level names of a few ridiculous levels you want, and I can set one up.

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

I'm thinking about cranking out some extra big maps in case we wind up with 50ish people.

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

Yeah. Need the backup.

If the minplayers-maxplayers feature is operational, we can use that?

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

Yeah, it works. If we're going to use it, we need to go through and size-rate all the maps and make sure we have tooooons of options.

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

I can put up a mirror server with the same maps running at the same time for extras if we do exceed the limit... just so they can share the equivalent experience, even though they won't get counted for it.

Re: 3B6 Map Nomination Thread

more like its too big for the actual useable elements and structures inside the map. Most of the blocks are just solid squares, and only a few actually have any use. Besides that its speed zones. still, i think its an innovative map. Plus, with 50 people, you cant really have a "small" map
