Floyd's Maze...?

Anyone remember this map? Arctic made a mockup, and it blew my mind. Nostalgia madness. It was made by someone.n1nj4 and featured a long winding tunnel, filled with nothing but space, with strong bases at each end. Two teamed CTF, one blue, one green. Despite its basic nature, with proper defense it was extremely difficult to get into the base and out with the flag.

I can post a screenshot if you guys are blanking. I think it was 2005-06 era, guaranteed before November 2007.

Anyone have the original?

What are some other REALLY old, classic maps? I know Hedge Maze (by Bob!) came out months before I even discovered Zap. Then there was furbuggy's Trench, and the Light vs Dark map...

Re: Floyd's Maze...?

A bit of history here. Floyd's Maze was the first Zap! level that I ever made. The name comes from the fact that I was listening to Pink Floyd at the time. I haven't been able to locate the original file *yet* but I suspect it was made somewhere around late 2004, early 2005 putting it at 10 years old!!

The aesthetics of the level weren't great but it sure plays well. The lack of symmetry doesn't seem to give any side a particular advantage which I feel is a tad unique. Have there been any other levels that feature a long, confined tunnel in CTF?

Anyways, I'm glad that this level has been making the rounds. Sure brings back a lot of memories! I'll continue trying to locate/date the original.

Thanks Bob! Weren't you Cheese Bob back in the day or was that someone else? I had good memories on Floyd's maze, we should play it again in a party sometime and see how it holds up with a modern audience.

As far as any sort of Zap!/Bitfighter playing goes I've always been plain 'ol Bob.
