MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

I need music for my Bitfighter.

Right now I have Archons of Light (only good part is the flutes), Faraway, Feelings (those two come with game), and (way too loud) Tetris. I deleted a whole bunch

I dont know what kind of files will work

Re: MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

You add any tracker format (.mod, .it, .xm, .s3m), and here is a good place to get them:
http://modarchive.org/

You can also add ogg vorbis files (.ogg)

Re: MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

Remember, don't add music from other games to Bitfighter, even when it's free, because the music sometimes isn't free.

Re: MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

Can't you add whatever music you want for your own personal use..?
I have a game that's entirely about adding your own songs to the game lol

Re: MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

Not a lawyer, but assuming you have a legal license to it and you don't distribute the music, I'm sure it's fine to add whatever you want.

I just play a track in the background, that should suffice, as long as it's not distributed by Bitfighter.

Re: MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

I'm not sure what the legality is with just playing it on your own machine, but you raise a point about not recording Bitfighter matches with licensed music in the background. We want to put Bitfighter on youtube, not get it taken off!

Re: MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

Will Bitfighter play mid files in the future?

Because I tried once. Trying to run mid files in Bitfighter has (I assume) broken quick look server whenever it sees a mid file in finder on the main account on this computer. Switching to my PERSONAL account until I fix that.

  Code:
I assume it broke quick look server because it started happening immediately after I replaced all the Bitfighter music with mid files. There is the possibility it was quicktime player that did it but I think it was Bitfighter... I'm not sacrificing another account to test it out.

Re: MUSIC4BITFIGHTER

MIDI is not supported and will most likely never be supported.

MIDI is a file format that requires you provide your own 'instruments' for each of the internal notes, instead of storing them internally like modules do - this would increase the size of bitfighter significantly.
