Decrease s_bot reflex time slightly

In a map today I spied a bot with zero health visible. I cloaked, crept up to the bot, and fired. In the millisecond between the phaser leaving my ship's distance, traveling virtually no distance at all and colliding into the weak bot, the bot managed to activate shield. It then became an energy-fest and eliminated the entire purpose of the sneak attack.

I get that bots are supposed to be robotic and have lightning reflexes... but that seems a little overpowered to me. Thoughts on decreasing shield reflex slightly to align closer with human reflex times?

Hah, I think bots are supposed to replace players when nobody is online. s_bot currently has some randomness to sometimes "fail" at shielding, but maybe there should be a delay too.

s_bot needs a lot of work though.

The s_bots are surprisingly skilled. They've got good energy conservation. But yea they could be more humanlike, namely in using more/different modules and weapons.

raptor is working on that actually, with profiles. In a few versions (019D?), there might be bots with random modules :D

Correction: raptor *was* working on a full rewrite of s_bot with a new architecture to allow better adjustments and easier adding of logic. But then his many theoretical discussions with kaen on the topic which laid out the design got lost with the server crash.

raptor has since been crying in his sleep at the loss of the data and wondering if someone else who really understands AI architecture could some day speak to him again...

Man, I think kaen is in the best position to work on there, he DID work on a super-cool learning bot. We need some neuroscientist.

Im on the oppisite end I think bots should be made bette rlike using tels and speed zones.

maybe a easy and hard version of the bot would be nice.

always back up your data.
