00:11:45raptorWatusimoto: how are the flames? should i make the length based on speed?
00:13:06Watusimotosure
00:13:19Watusimotothey seem to overwhelm the seeker in the screenshot
00:13:28Watusimotoas they are brighter and more solid
00:13:36Watusimotoperhaps fade them a bit???
00:14:02Watusimotook, bed time
00:14:09sam686ok
00:14:23raptorok
00:15:01BFLogBot - Commit d6577f4c4976 | Author: watusim...@bitfighter.org | Log: Add missing methods to teleporter
00:15:02BFLogBot - Commit 4bd942285274 | Author: watusim...@bitfighter.org | Log: Added more Lua methods to engineered items.
00:16:03Watusimotoyeah, I like having inheritance available when definng these lua methods!!!
00:16:12raptoryay!
00:16:23raptorthe pain is paying off, then?
00:16:53Watusimotoyes, by causing more pain... so many methods to implement
00:17:12Watusimotoat least the docs will be hefty
00:17:17raptori meant the pain of LuaW
00:17:26raptorLunar is long gone now, right?
00:18:16Watusimotono, we're still using it in several places
00:18:25Watusimotobut it will be gone, someday
00:18:28Watusimotosomeway
00:18:36raptor:(
00:18:42Watusimotobut it's out of our object hiearcy
00:18:52Watusimotowe're still using it for some other things
00:18:57Watusimotohey, it works
00:19:06Watusimotoit's transparent to the user
00:19:16Watusimotoit's really not a problem
00:19:27Watusimotoand we get to thunk things!
00:20:06raptori thunk i thunk
00:20:29Watusimotothink about where we want to make the lua docs available onthe website. We will need to get doxygen configured at some point.
00:20:36Watusimotook, well, good night for real this time
00:20:41raptornight!

00:43:53raptori don't think sparks are needed, looks pretty good so far..
00:45:50raptorok committed
00:47:00sam686ok, loiks better..
00:50:07BFLogBot - Commit 68bfe36158d4 | Author: buckyballreaction | Log: Heat seeker looks better!
00:50:08BFLogBot - Commit 54509685cc06 | Author: buckyballreaction | Log: Reduce heat seeker radius to correspond to new graphics
01:22:09sam686well, I got one more monitor.. I have 4 totals.. one desktop computer outputs 3 monitors, another desktop computer output one monitors.. http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/upload/four_monitors.jpg
01:23:50sam686there might be a small problem with auto-idle, when a button or joystick is stuck held down it won't auto idle...
01:24:37sam686such as I left my client open running with a joystick tilted because of the way joystick fell and landed up side down, holding joystick off center
01:28:40sam686expecially if I left with a client that won't auto-idle cause it thinks I am moving / shooting...
01:29:07sam686caused by off-center joystick when up-side down on the floor
01:29:24raptorwow
01:29:32raptorall 4 hooked up to the same system?
01:29:46sam686threee on one system, ran out of VGA ports..
01:30:06sam686the fourth on a seperate Pentium D desktop computer
01:30:23sam686the other desktop with three monitors have pentium 4
01:36:54sam686although my Pentium D have 4 GB ram (maximum on that old computer is 4 GB), windows and 64-bit linux see only 3.5 GB ram.. Move a graphics card from one computer to this Pentium D, and the RAM usable drops to 2.75 GB... So I took it out and put it back to Pentium 4 which have only 1.5 GB RAM
01:37:29sam686probably out of addressable RAM space on a 4 GB Max Ram..
01:46:21sam686the heat seeker missile still look kindof small, it looks smaller then burst, and is aa little harder to see then phaser or bouncer
01:52:33raptoryes
02:05:25raptorok added to instructions

02:19:02raptorshould the idle recharge cycle work on hostile loadout zones?
02:20:34sam686would be dumb if it does when hostile zone drain your energy..
02:20:43raptorhmm... yeah
02:20:49raptorok, i'll adjust..
02:25:40raptordone
02:30:21BFLogBot - Commit 1fe823c8bdb3 | Author: buckyballreaction | Log: Don't enter the energy recharge cycle if we're on a hostile loadout zone
02:37:01sam686ok.. compiling..
02:38:59sam686ok, ready for a possible test..
02:39:03raptorok
02:50:20sam686heat seeker this big?
02:50:22sam686http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/upload/3screenshot_5.png
02:50:34raptorhaha
02:52:10sam686twice as big? http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/upload/2screenshot_10.png
02:52:30raptorhmmm
02:52:35raptori guess that's not as bad
02:52:39sam686hint: i am using edit and continue debugging... that how I didn't leave / join..
02:52:47raptorinteresting...
02:53:43raptorwhat about 1.5 times as big?
02:54:03sam686on renderHeatSeeker, just below glRotoatef (line 1418 gameObjectRender.cpp) added a glScale(2);
02:54:28sam686trying 1.5 times bigger
02:55:08sam6861.5 times bigger: http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/upload/4screenshot_12.png
02:55:56raptorthat doesn't seem so bad
03:00:14raptorhttp://beta.etherpad.org/p/018_new_stuff
03:00:48sam686]or http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/018_new_stuff.php for view-only hit F5 to see changes..
03:01:10raptorha!
03:01:14raptoryou pull it directly?
03:01:27sam686yes, using an export URL
03:02:02sam686the double arrow button I used to get export URL as plain text, and make it tell a browser it is an HTML
03:04:41sam686connection problem...
03:04:45raptoryep
03:05:06sam686and I even got some Gere medidation or whatever it was at http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/018_new_stuff.php
03:06:18raptorit's back
03:06:37sam686good, just had to reload the ehterpad website..
03:18:02sam686Oh, have you ever desided on what size to use for heat seeker?
03:22:34raptorno - i want to get watusimoto's opinion
03:23:05raptori think 2x might be too large but normal size might be too small..
03:23:21sam686ok..
03:23:22raptorif he thinks larger is better, then i want to redesign the flames
03:42:49sam686How about a giant "WINNER" or "LOSER" when a game ends?
03:42:58raptornot LOSER
03:43:13raptornot sure about WINNER
03:43:21raptoryou mean as that text effect?
03:43:31raptorlike when retrieving lots of nexus flags
03:43:33sam686yes, whe game ends...
03:43:56sam686because it is quite hard to see the tiny text of who wins on top left screen..
03:44:31sam686expecially when other players keeps killing and that text flyes away quickly, no one can read it..
03:53:14raptorwell, i'm falling asleep - i'm going to bed early
03:53:16raptorgood night!

19:20:23sam686what
19:20:28sam686there, i said what
19:34:32raptoroh hello
19:34:50sam686hi hi
19:35:04raptorWatusimoto: did you see the heat seeker screenshots (I never know if you actually see what I write when you are at work..)
19:35:27WatusimotoI see it sometimes, others not. Not this time
19:35:51raptorheat seeker: http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/upload/5screenshot_2.png
19:36:01raptordifferente sizes: http://sam686.maxhushahn.com/upload/3screenshot_5.png

19:36:11raptorhttp://sam686.maxhushahn.com/upload/4screenshot_12.png
19:37:37sam686right now, heat seeker looks smaller then bouncers or burst..
19:57:06raptorit's a mean little devil
20:03:52Watusimotosorry, called away
20:04:15raptori forgive, just this once
20:04:42WatusimotoI like 3_5!
20:04:53raptor:)
20:05:06raptorso you really know it's coming...
20:05:41Watusimotogo with the smallest ones
20:05:51raptororiginal size?
20:05:53raptorok
20:05:57raptordone!
20:09:36Watusimotogood
20:10:43raptori guess this shape is better than my humble red triangle
20:17:22sam686a tip on drawing frames on heat seeker, draw the flames first, then the triangle, so that the triangle will be on top of flames, to avoid the need to put some space between flame and triangle of heat seeker
20:20:07sam686it becomes obvious problem the flame is on top of triangle when /linewidth 1 or /linewidth 4
20:20:36raptorheh, ok
20:37:17BFLogBot - Commit a54205879712 | Author: buckyballreaction | Log: Render heat seeker flames on bottom
20:37:23raptorhappy?
20:40:49sam686ok
20:42:01raptor:)
20:50:42Watusimotook, pushed some new documentation; one issue we have is that there is a growing slug of documentiation (front page, Timer class, etc.) that has to be somewhere that the luadocs.pl script can find it, but doesn't really belong in BfObject, where it currently resides.
20:51:03WatusimotoWe shuold probably create a separate file to hold it. Any suggestions on what that file should be called?
20:51:08Watusimotoand where it should live?
20:51:27raptoryou mean in the code tree?
20:51:30Watusimotoyes
20:51:40Watusimotoyou can see the slug in bfObject.cpp c. 1275
20:51:46Watusimotoif you don't understand
20:52:19BFLogBot - Commit 1afda149d163 | Author: watusim...@bitfighter.org | Log: Added new documentation, improved HTML formatting docs, added documentiation for Timer class (using a new methodology that will allow us to document classes implemented completely in Lua), and added several missing methods.

20:52:36raptorcould put a stub of sorts in the 'doc' directory?
20:52:45Watusimotoyes, we could
20:53:16WatusimotoI'm thinking it would be ideal to keep it with other .cpp files, but the doc folder might be a good place
20:53:35Watusimotoluadocs_static_text.txt?
20:53:41Watusimoto.cpp?
20:54:07raptorsure, anything seems OK.. unless your script can only parse .cpp?
20:54:25Watusimotoit's perl... it can parse ANYTHING
20:54:36Watusimotoit could parse my chair if I asked it ot
20:55:16Watusimotothis isn't some wuss python script
20:55:25raptorhehe
