00:08:25raptoractually, removing the glortho call has the same behavior - but I can make a gray screen instead of a black screen!

00:25:23raptorha! who made the user 'Old Zap'?
00:25:46fordcarsI don't know!
00:25:53fordcarsBut I think it may be furbuggy

00:35:18fordcarsWindows Notepad sometimes adds newlines when you turn word wrapping on
00:35:27fordcarsGuess it was my mistake to use Notepad
00:35:39raptornever use notepad!
00:35:52raptorseems like we've had this conversation before...
00:35:53fordcarsHaha
00:35:59fordcarsProbably
00:36:09fordcarsI use Notepadd ++ but it's not the default one
00:36:33fordcarsIt's doesn't show up in the default programs list, so I don't know how I could set it as default
00:37:22raptorthere is a way to make it default... i thought you could choose that upon installation
00:37:40fordcarsOh
00:37:44fordcarsPossibly
00:38:13fordcarsUh, setting LevelDir in .ini does nothing, but as command line argument it works
00:38:52raptorbug! in 019e?
00:38:56fordcarsYep
00:39:05raptoryou can open a new github issue!

00:46:01fordcarsraptor: I wrote Bitfighter 019e as a comment, but isn't there another way?
00:46:28raptori have no idea! I'm as new as you are... newer, in fact, since you're opening an issue :)
00:46:54fordcarsHahahha
00:47:02fordcarsOk then :)

12:49:53raptorok, i got something to draw in GLES with our bitfighter setup... not one of the UIs, but a colored box! so seomthing else is wrong...
12:57:01amgine123 has joined
13:20:39raptorha! it fails after a gltranslatef() call
13:58:07raptori think we may have to rewrite much of the graphics...
13:58:11raptorargh
14:02:56raptorok, foudn the problem - scaling is off and y-axis is reversed, thus not rendering anything on screen
14:09:57amgine123hey raptor :(
14:10:25raptorhi
14:10:46amgine123Im trying to compile bitfighter from github but am getting a error
14:11:25raptortell me how you're compiling, what system, and what the error is
14:11:46kodaah-ha! so the move has taken place
14:12:00raptorshhhhh
14:12:10raptoryes, it's done
14:12:36amgine123btw anything vaugly testable ? :)
14:12:44raptornope
14:12:58amgine123ok let me know
14:13:05raptornot much change other than changing repository location
14:16:30amgine123I thought about trying to write a small piece of code for bitfighter or at least ripping 90% of it off from somewhere and making he nessicary changes
14:16:57amgine123all it would do is if a player passes a certain threshold in game they would wrap around
14:17:16amgine123That would keep people from getting stuck in he float zone
14:20:20amgine123using minigw thru codeblocks on a windows 10 32 bit operating system
14:20:52raptorno one of us uses codeblocks with mingw, so you'll probably have to do most of the figuring out on your own
14:21:02amgine123"||=== Build: Debug in bitfighter (compiler: GNU GCC Compiler) ===| C:\Users\Cory\Desktop\Bitfighter\bitfighter-master\alure\AL\alure.h|6|fatal error: al.h: No such file or directory| ||=== Build failed: 1 error(s), 0 warning(s) (0 minute(s), 2 second(s)) ===|"
14:21:13raptordid you use cmake?
14:22:10amgine123yes
14:22:21amgine123im using all the ones your using ececpt teh IDe which is codeblocks
14:22:47raptorwhat was your CMake command?
14:23:51amgine123here is the thing All I know smake does it automatrily after I press f9 in codeblocks
14:24:06raptori need to know your *exact* cmake command
14:24:08amgine123auto compiles and builds
14:24:17raptorah, then you didn't follow the directions
14:24:40raptor'cmake' is different than 'make'
14:24:56raptoryou must open a terminal, go to the bitfighter/build directory and run: cmake -G "CodeBlocks - MinGW Makefiles" ..
14:25:18amgine123one step at a time for me please :)
14:25:37raptorthis is the first step :) just be thorough and do it carefully
14:26:11amgine123cmake not a cmd command....
14:26:34raptorthen you need to reinstall CMake and put it on your 'path'
14:26:51raptorwhen installing it, there is an option that is something like: "add to system path"
14:27:05watusimotosigh
14:27:20watusimotoam working with a client, using github as a communication tool
14:27:26raptorwatusimoto: i got it to render with GLES!
14:27:35watusimotohe just sent me a list of code changes via screenshot
14:27:35amgine123hey good job raptor!
14:27:37raptorupside down and about 2000 times too big!
14:27:44watusimotohey, that's awesome news!
14:27:47raptorwatusimoto: oh lovely
14:28:18amgine123"gives raptor -1 more errors"
14:28:22watusimotoindeed. so I make his changes suggested in the screenshot, then upload them to github, create a pull request, the he'll get them
14:28:28raptordid you tell him it's 25 cents a keystroke?
14:28:29amgine123 gives raptor -1 more errors
14:28:39watusimotoit's a fixed price contract
14:29:12watusimotoso GLES... how much work was that?
14:29:55raptori've spent at least 4 hours trial-and-erroring it to what I know now...
14:30:09Nothing_Much has joined
14:30:29raptorand i found out that the openpandora port is using glshim a GLES-to-GL abstraction library. so it was non-standard after-all
14:31:05raptori'm a little bummed that all my GLES work in the past actually doesn't work...
14:31:23raptorbut at least it got us a little closer to GLES2
14:32:11amgine123still cmake comman not valid.....
14:32:25raptoramgine123: you may have to restart with the cmake command on the system path
14:32:56amgine123can you jsut control my computer and do it for me im to stupid to do this :(
14:33:01raptornope
14:33:10raptori've got my own things to work on at the moment...
14:33:25raptoralso, once you get it, you've learned it good!
14:33:54amgine123Guess I will never be able to help then im jsut to stupid to get thisworking :(
14:34:16raptorthere is only one skill you need: stick-to-it-ness
14:34:19amgine123how hard would a screen wrap code be for bitfighter ?
14:34:40amgine123thats what I want to to a small easy insigificant project
14:35:09amgine123bascily jsut before the gltiched flaot zone is hit they would wrap around
14:35:32raptorthread wrote a level like that, it's somewhere on pleiades
14:47:43watusimotothe critical skill is stick=to-it-ness (aka "grit")
14:47:58watusimototyping skills don't hurt either...
14:48:03raptorha, true
14:49:33watusimotothe most important skill is grit. grit and typing. The two most important skills are grit and typing. And logic.
14:52:29raptorwell, i don't know what i'm doing - i don't know how on earth the scaling and y-axis is upside down when linking against GLES
14:52:42raptorall google searches turn up GLES2 stuff
14:55:00raptorone weird clue might be that translation and scaling need to be in a certain order...
14:55:04watusimotohuh, that's odd... perhaps it has a different concept of where 0,0 is
14:55:37watusimotoclick here to see one weird clue about translation and scaling
15:03:23raptorclick where?
15:14:04raptori wonder if this means we have some issue with our GL matrices
15:14:19raptorand GLES just exacerbates it
15:27:51koda Quit (Ping timeout: 250 seconds)
15:29:20watusimotoraptor: your question (click where) makes me think you must make heavy use of adblock

22:38:38raptornot all of them work as the 019 API is a little different, but most newer posts should have working bots
