Welcome to the fourth and final round of voting!

In this stage, you will select the ONE best entry. Levels should be judged for their creativity, competitiveness, aesthetics, and fun. Levels should be judged on an individual basis, and should not be influenced by how they may have interacted with another half (ie. should not be downgraded for pairing with a bad level, or upgraded simply for pairing with a good level).

Voting Format: In the fourth stage of voting, we are down to just two levels! Both levels will receive a cash prize, but it's your job to determine which receives bragging rights.

Voting ends Thursday, January 22nd at 11:59pm EST! Re-voting is allowed. Feel free to explain how you voted below, but don't forget to discuss the levels in detail here! Please add comments in the prior link! This part of the contest never received much attention and yet it's one of the most important.

I'm really confused. The voting ended by the count sky_lark proposed with Chill at 6 and Protovision at 5, but now Chill is at 6 and Protovision at 7.

I can second that. Was up around 5am est the 23rd on the forums checking to see which won and Chill was at 6 and Protovision 5 but then sky never posted so... Also it looked like the poll was closed.

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything, been super busy and haven't had the chance to write out a formal conclusion post. Chill definitely won, the vote was 5-3 at the deadline excluding my vote. I'm not sure why four people voted for Protovision post-deadline, there's not much evidence to suggest voter fraud but it is curious.

I think for future contests we might try adding a phpbb plugin to the forum that could show voter names to only the author, there are certainly plugins that do that sort of thing, assuming it's ok with forum devs. The current voting method leaves way too many vulnerabilities, but I'm hesitant to move to an external method for fear it will lessen the number of participants.

Congrats to the author of Chill and a formal conclusion thread will be up in a day or two.

PS. If you suspect voter fraud and have evidence or strong reasoning please PM me. You won't be judged, and secrecy will be maintained. Look, we are a community of less than 50 people, I'd really hope everyone here trusts one another to not cheat the system for a few extra pennies. (Both levels here win cash prizes.) If there was cheating involved then it threatens the potential for future contests and cash prizes, which I'd hope nobody wants!

I went to reading the forum's database, and found the following users have voted here so far:
sky_lark kaen Quartz FoOtloOse raptor thread Little_Apple Fordcars sam686 Bob amgine3 amgine2 amgine4 amgine

This might be why there are suddenly 4 more votes on Protovision. This may have have happened to all rounds on this contest.

A piece of mysql code so I or other forum administrators with access to mysql database can look at this.

Thanks sam for your investigation! This will be very helpful in future contests in case the advanced phpbb plugin doesn't pan out.

If that suggests what I think we all think it suggests, I am incredibly disappointed. Amgine's level isn't even in the final stage... However, I wrote Amgine to request his side of the story, and I think it's fair to hear him out before making any conclusions.
