Your LCD monitor might be motion blurring so much you don't see the stars.

Try a different LCD monitor with faster response rate.

Or try any CRT monitor, all CRT have instant response rate with no motion blur at all.

Sam - for the technically uninclined, if taz were to record a video of his game, would it capture stars despite not being visible to him? Ie. screen recorder capturing system data versus what's actually displayed on the monitor.

yes, video recording or even screenshot still captures everything without blur. Since it doesn't use a camera, it has nothing to do with monitor, even your monitor can be turned off and it will screen record like if it is on.

Unless you use a camera to video record or take a photo of your LCD monitor while moving, that will clearly see how much motion blurry LCD are.

CRT don't play nice to cameras because most cameras easily see CRT flashing, flicker, or half dark.

Aha, so that's why my old eMac shows strange gray bars on film, but not to my naked eye. Thanks!

@Taz that might be a good way to test/isolate the problem!

Re: i don't see most stars when i move

to update the topic i havent experienced the issue today. i suspect it has something to do with linewidth and maxfps settings, since at the time i was going nuts with that
