One Life Bitmatch
Why: Because it inspires a whole host of new strategies, it's an interesting competitive take on Bitfighter, and it's intense and fun.
We can currently improvise this gametype by making the spawn blocked shortly after starting the map. That's totally fine, but constantly having to reset the map is pretty inconvenient, and no real spectating is a bit sad too.
How: Now here's the hard part. Executing this idea sound simple on the outside but as Little_Apple pointed out to me, it's really not all that easy. You would need a spectating mode so that it wasn't horrifically boring for those who are dead. No such concept even exists in the game's coding, so that's something entirely new and thus, a real pain for the devs to make something like this.
Furthermore, you would also likely need a separation of the chatting in the server at that point. Those who are dead can read the messages of those dead and those alive, those who are alive can only see the messages of those alive. I'm not a genius about this stuff but that doesn't sound too simple either.
To separate this from regular Bitmatch, I would also suggest making it a "best of 3" game or whatever, as well. You play a maximum of 5 rounds to determine the overall winner. For this gametype, it would be neat to have the ability to make it "best of 2, best of 3, best of 4" and so on.
So overall it's a one-life, round-based bitmatch. We have being doing this in a very ghetto way so far by restarting the map, blocking off the respawn, etc. and it's been a ton of fun. Still, a more official form with a spectating mode would be incredibly awesome.
