Faster Core Healing

can this be a thing? the way it is now its just not worth healing cores. from a recent(ish) talk with raptor i know that they heal at the same speed that turrets and forcefields, which is to be expected, but i think they are so important to the outcome of the match the speed at which they heal can largely influence the results. i think it would help gameplay a lot if this relatively minor change was to be made.

feel free to tear my opinion to shreads.

Re: Faster Core Healing

how abnout instead of faster core folding only how about overall faster healing it takes like 3 ship scyles to completly heal osmthing so its nearly impossible to heal somthing without dying.

Re: Faster Core Healing

It would be nice to heal cores faster; however, think of it as an opponent.

Let's say each Core panel has 10x the normal ship health. After several attempts by the opposing team at taking down one panel, shooting lots and lots bullets on target, the panel is now almost dead. All of a sudden a defender comes and heals it back to full health in 5 seconds - something that took a minute or more of constant bombardment to achieve.

Now if you are proposing that healing increase at only a slightly larger rate, say 2x then that doesn't seem so bad. But if you're proposing it heal in proportion to the health it has, then I think that is unfair.

Re: Faster Core Healing

Atm, Core can be won from several consecutive suicide runs.

I agree that you should probably say, triple the rate it heals.

Re: Faster Core Healing

I agree with raptor. If cores take 10x as long as, say, a turret to kill, shouldn't their difficulty to repair go up as well? It ought to be proportional.

Re: Faster Core Healing

But once a panel is destroyed it can't be repaired and destroying turrets isn't the main objective. (Unless its a dungeon)

Re: Faster Core Healing

y'all need to play more Core with, say, footloose.

Watch as she suicide bombs your Core over and over again and how you are helpless to stop her and she wins no matter what you do. And of course, footloose isn't the only one who does this, I'm just using her as an example. I'm sure she'd be happy to show you.

I'm being entirely serious. You literally can't do crap because they are shielding and shooting your core so for that *little* time they are invincible, you literally can't do anything to stop them as they obliterate your core. And this wouldn't be an issue, if you could actually repair your core ... but you seriously can't even noticeably repair your core even using 100% of your energy every time and standing still for the fast speed energy regen, rinse and repeat. It still is barely noticeable, and by that time they are of course in your core's face again destroying it as you helplessly watch and cry.

I'm trying to make good Core maps. I'm trying really hard. But suicide bombing is so effective that it honestly isn't currently a good gametype. :|

These are good points.

@Quartz Couldn't you just add more required hit points to cores? I sort of get what you're saying but I still can't get behind the idea.

I've tried that, I thought it would work too but it doesn't. (Thus my "I'm trying to make good maps, I'm really trying" comment) When you vastly increase the Core's hit points, that is exactly when 'healing' a core is entirely unnoticeable, both to you and the enemy.

Re: Faster Core Healing

yes ive also had this problsm in levels adding more hit points doesnt help but if say overall healing rate was increased that would be better maybe increase the heal rate from 3 cycles to 2.
