Get Rid Of The Armor Disadvantage.

Okay, I say we get rid of armor's disadvantage because:
1. Modules are supposed to give you an advantage, Not a disadvantage.
2. Its nearly useless because of it.
3. Makes Cloak + Armor a worthless combo.

Seriously, It kinda defeats the purpose of a module.
i got a rattlesnake gun.

Also get rid of shield energy drain because modules aren't supposed to have disadvantages.

Supposedly raptor and bobdaduck gave Armor without the movement penalty a test run, and apparently it "felt wrong." Much as I love both of them, I honestly think they're just plain incorrect, crazy, delusional, etc. in this case.

That said, I proposed that Armor, true to its tank-y nature, make knock-back effect you less. raptor is very fond of the idea, so I would consider that fairly likely to be implemented at some point.

Furthermore raptor was musing that Armor could also get a simple slight HP buff. So that could potentially happen as well.

If you're struggling with the debatable usefulness of Armor (it is pretty weak at this point in time), I will say that Armor + Repair is actually pretty decent.

It did feel wrong

Knockback reduction is already implemented

I like the idea of you being so massive that friction affects you more, but armor needs to be strong enough that the movement penalty is worth it. They're working on it though.

For those wondering, the following changes have been implemented for 019:

- Armor damage reduction has been reduced from 50% to 40%
- Armor impulse reaction has been given a reduction to 25% (before, full impulse was taken)

'Impulse' is the dramatic acceleration given due to collisions or explosion damage. Movement and acceleration penalties still apply.

These changes basically make armor very much a tank. You can charge bursting enemies now with out being blown off course much at all.

IF YOU DO THAT THEN YOU CANNOT HAVE FUN.


THE ARMOR DOES NOT HAVE MUCH OF A DISADVANTAGE BUT THE ADVANTAGE IS BETTER THAN THE DISADVANTAGE. THE DISDADVANTAGE IS ALSO AN ANDVANTAGE BECAUSE IT IS FUN AND YOU CAN GO REALLY FAST.


DOING THIS WILL JUST RUIN THE ARMOR MODULE IN BITFIGHTER. PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT.

DON'T WANT ARMOR? DONT USE IT. :x

Awesome changes raptor.

And Lamp, we've mentioned this before: Gameplay > Novelties (Dungeons, Launchers, etc.) You'd best get used to your favorite exploits being fixed.

Ugh, Armor is already a weak module as it is. We do not need to make it worthless. Sheild is an incredibly strong module so it NEEDS a disadvantage.

I am afraid he is right. Yes, Mine launching is fun. But armor has to be tweaked.

Quartz is right, unfortunately. I too enjoy some of the novelty aspects of the game, but it's for the better. If we can make Bitfighter the best game possible, then we should pursue that, even if it means some of the novelty is worn off.

I initially felt the same way about fake walls. I enjoy the challenge and appeal. But, I know that they hamper Bitfighter's ability to grow and improve. If limiting the penguin slide effect means more players will enjoy armor more, then so be it.

It HAS A disadvantage: it uses a lot of energy.


Everything is perfectly fine how it is.

What? Limiting the slide effect will make me enjoy it LESS.

I play this game not because how it's suppost to be played. I play it for the misc stuff (dungeons, novelties, and just having fun). I also like to make and share maps.

I think other new players do the same.




Armor already has a pretty big advantage, it makes it harder for others to kill you.
Removing the disadvantage will ruin a lot of things. :x

Or, make armor to not take an armor slot, I consider armor as a HUGE disadventage, You can see a nub with armor normally, shooting at you, you burst him, and just with that he takes 20 seconds to recover.
Or, make armors ressistant incrase, too?
