Weapon Space Strike.

So I had a idea for a weapon in bitfighter A space strike weapon.

Energy usage would be a 100% for 1 shot and cannot move when using it. ( to curb abuse).

When selected As a weapon you can press C to go to the map and click somewhere and launch a space missile there.

There would be some sort of warning ( maybe a Red outline)

Then after a short delay would be a explosion which goes from the center to the edge of the outline and slow enough to allow space ships to fly out of radius with quick reflex

the Damage would be 100% A instant kill if it hits and can take out any turrets/forcefeilds in 1 hit.

What do you guys think?

I like it but I think it should only do half damage to turrets and force fields. Otherwise it could clear almost any base instantly.

But I think it would add a bit more of a tactical edge to Bitfighter, and encourage people to work as a team to time the strike

But it could be used in that regard as more of a offensive item to Clear out enemys defenses.

And you would have to wait and get your energy gauge back up before you could use it again...

I don't even know where to begin on how terrible this sounds for game balance.

Welcome to base building being useless. 'Nuff said.

I understand the appeal of a one shot one kill weapon -- if that is done, it should probably be more like a rail gun of sorts. Something that requires accuracy, nothing explosive.

That's too OP tho. A base with no defenses is.. well.. defenseless!
Especially if all the ships have to clear out so as not to die.

It killing everything in one hit would break a lot of smaller maps.
The ships can move; the turrets and force fields can't.

What if it was a pickup-able item instead of something that everyone could spawn with?

We have talked over the years of having powerups that would occasionally appear and could perhaps be stolen from a player once you killed them.

Well that would just be awesome!

And it would also open up a lot of opportunities for "powerups" such as this one.

Well the thing is due to the 100% energy usage and the slow rate of ire you can heal the turrets / forcefeilds faster then the person can destroy them as balance requiring them to be timed and used wisely.

Maybe on a 1v1 match, MAYBE, I still think your energy might recharge faster than someone is able to repair an entire base full of turrets and force fields (covering multiple energy recharges).

That doesn't take into account what happens if four people all select it and shoot one after the other. It shouldn't be something that everyone can access at once.

But if they are all doing that They Will Not Be able to Defend there base the entire other team can come straight in and sweep for a win.

Plus you Cannot move when you are using it which makes it harder.

Why can't you move? You can still fly around when you're in the C-Map.
And no they won't be able to because all of your turrets and force fields will still be active!

Clearly you dont understand that when they are on the C map aiming they will be disallowed to fly around.

Okay you just added that to the main post, but it still doesn't make sense. At no other point in the game is their movement disabled. It wouldn't make sense for that to be the case here

It is true to point out though if all four teamates use it at the very start even if they can fly around they would have no way to defend themselves.

Now that I think about it you mighg have to disable aiming near cores.,,,
