Video Game Releases of 2011

Ok guys, which Video Games are you looking forward to owning this year?

Personally I'm eager for-
    Section 8: Prejudice
    Dust 514
    Portal 2
-to come out.

Re: Video Game Releases of 2011

Dragon Age 2
Shogun Total War
Portal 2
Torchlight II
Mass Effect 3
TES V : Skyrim

To name but a few. I'll probably go broke. Also, I probably don't need this many RPG's so I'll have to make a tough decision and cut a few from the list.

Nope. I guess you could call that a coincidence.

What? Oh, the subject of this thread is Video Game Releases. Guess I came to the wrong place.

I play games exclusively my macbook pro like the east-coast college brat I am.

(Well not really. Most members of that particular demographic wouldn't know a good computer game if it hit them in the face, don't run boot camp or wine, and have never heard of things like Quicksilver. But hey, I guess I shouldn't judge.)

I think I'm going to spend the upcoming weekend battling through a bootleg copy of dead space 2.

Never really saw the appeal of Dead Space, to be honest. It looks like another space FPS with somewhat but ultimately not very convincingly scary monsters and things.

I'm hoping to get the new release of Bitfighter! I hear there's one coming out soon!

Oh man a new version of Bitfighter? I might not have enough money for any of those other games. Bitfighter might be expensive, but I guess thats the modern game industry for you.

Portal 2. Really hoping it's the last game they use Source with, though. It's a good engine, don't get me wrong, but at this point, it's extremely outdated and needs replacing.

Bad Company 3 looks epic, truly a shame I don't have very much time for these games anymore.

Yup. I had the original 60GB which would play PS2 games. It died a long time ago though, back in 09. I dissembled it after it died (to get my disc out!), to find the thermal goop on the CPU & GPU bone dry. This is probably why it got YLOD. (Dry Thermal Goop = Not good)

I did think about doing the temp fix. But I didn't think it was worth it. They only work for a week or two if that after.

I'm guessing the thermal paste dried up due to the fact the console was switched on nearly 24-7. And had done a few non-stop 24/48 gaming sessions :o. That combined with cheap thermal paste.. well.

PS3 needs some kinda hardware temperature monitors like my PC has. At least with my PC when the thermal paste dried and the CPU hit 85C for a few seconds (max rec is 60C). I could immediately shut down and change it, unlike the PS3 you got no idea when it's gonna go :| Except for fan noise, but after long periods of playing my PS3 fans used to max out anyway..

Such is why I didn't ditch my PS2 after I got my PS3.

Re: Video Game Releases of 2011

I have only two important games to list:
Fancy Pants Adventures
and
Portal 2

The only other games important to me are the ones I create, and that's partly because I get money off of them. Theoretically at least.

In theory yes. I mean thermal paste is thermal paste at the end of the day just don't put to much I guess. I know on my dead 60GB it would of been possible. I'm unsure about the slims. Most likely can.

I had no idea Stephen Merchant was doing voices for Portal 2! Happy surprise!
