Quartz' Solid Maps

This is a collection of all of the maps that I consider "solid." By solid, I mean the gameplay is at least decently balanced and they are worthwhile for general playing, rather than just "ooh, look at my shiny map!" aka NOVELTIES. There are NO novelties in this pack, so if you came expecting Dungeons and the like, sorry but they aren't here.

If, however, you are looking to populate your server with some quality maps, then here are 28 maps for your consideration.

Please do not edit my maps. If you really want to, talk to me about it first. It's not exactly tough to get ahold of me.

All that said, I hope you all enjoy. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc. feel free to post them here.

(Encore and Serpentine are not included as they now come with Bitfighter v018a, AKA they are stock maps)

Bitmatch:
Ampitheatre of Death
Cure for the Itch
Search and Destroy
Nexus:
Mini-Colosseum
Forest of Fear
Rabbit:
Ninja Bunny
Wrath of the Rabid Chipmunk
CTF:
CTF-Compass
Rack City
Core:
Ducks Rock
Progress
Retrieve:
They Call Me Crazy
Twofer
Double Lucky
Pathetic Humans
Diamonds are Forever
Cavity Search
In The Deep
Surfing with the Alien
Hold the Flag:
Firefight
Maya
Head in the Clouds
Around the Bend
Zone Control:
Snail World
The Grid
Bubblegum Wars
Soccer:
Spooning Leads to Forking
Push of War

You're talking about yourself.

Either run another server or add it to your Solid Gold Levels server.

Me for these amazing maps? ...

Oh, that's not what you meant.

Damn. Now I'm disappointed. That would've been a flattering compliment. :'(

Ohmigawd I love these maps. I put them all up for now because I don't have time to scrutinize them all, but I have a strong measure of faith in their overall quality.

Re: Quartz' Solid Maps

Nice maps! My favorites are Maya, Progress, Rack City, Snail World, and obviously that rapid chipmunk map.

Push of War needs a higher goal count. I realize it's probably a joke map, but I think it could actually be entertaining as a filler map, if only the goal count was 3 or 5...

Glad you enjoy them! It seems like a whole lot of people adore Maya, which is interesting to me.

If you come up with a way to make Push of War actually *work* with a higher goal count, let me know. That's the issue.

Re: Quartz' Solid Maps

LAWL UPDATE!! Check the first post for the new version!

CTF-Compass: Updated description
Rack City: Made it a little less ugly
Firefight: Changed score, made asteroids far, far less annoying.
Maya: Updated description (it's hilarious now) and outside design. Made the center area a small bit less squished by simplifying the border walls.
Around the Bend: Fixed spawns to be less insanely retarded.
Mini-Colosseum: Now has proper spelling. Wow I am dumb sometimes.
Wrath of the Rabid Chipmunk: The circles are far more circular and less jagged. The Test Items play a bit differently now as a result, but in a good way. The Test Items spawn in a different spot. Added pretty line item decoration.
Search and Destroy: Added spectating, changed the layout just a bit.
Tight Space: Removed from the map pack! It's garbage why was it in here?
Head in the Clouds: Added to the map pack! I didn't include it initially because it was, in my mind, incomplete due to the lack of a levelgen that I was planning to add. It finally has this levelgen now, courtesy bobdaduck!

Re: Quartz' Solid Maps

Version 1.2 lawl

Touched up Search and Destroy to make it more obvious who is spectating and who is in the arena without being obnoxious.

Enjoy.
