HOW TO DO LET'S PLAYS

So I want to start doing let's plays for some games. I want to set it up such that I can have my computer's camera recording my face, my mic recording my voice, and a screen capture of the game obviously.
Complicated.

In terms of recording the game itself, in the past I have used QuickTime's Screen Recording feature. While this is pretty effective, it doesn't capture the game audio as far as I know.

I also don't know how one goes about having the recording of one's face go in a small corner of the video.

Anyone willing to help me with this? <3

heyo, Quartz.
I have done some gameplay thingies before. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0EUOfv ... _3CALEnikA)
So I can help ya.

A good screen recorder to use is fraps. However it isn't free and if you can't afford it I encourage you to t0rr3nt it and buy it when you can. (And yes, fraps records game audio.)

As for mics, I would use pretty much anything by logitech for this. Logitech mics and headsets are usually perfectly fine.

For webcams? Any old webcam will work. Just make sure it isn't a dollar store one.

Hope this helped.

Thanks, but truthfully it didn't. I have the equipment. I'm talking about actually throwing it all together into a video.

You can use something as simple as windows movie maker for basic editing.

For more advanced editing I would go with lightworks.

If this is not what you meant please elaborate. I know quite a lot about let's play making and stuff and I think I could help you.

How I do it:

xSplit. Not sure if it's available for Mac, but if you're on Windows, yes.

It is also free, but it's limited to 4 arrangements of video elements (scenes) and then the FPS is capped at 25.

I have a subscription and it's actually really good. It also has integration with things like Twitch (and the other services) to livestream directly from the thing (xSplit haha). It also allows for inserting media like images, so if you Photoshop yourself up a nice watermark, you can drop that in there too.

That's just my setup, I'm positive there's loads of others.
if you're reading this, i'm sorry for how cringe my old posts are. i rarely play BF anymore, but if you ever want to find me, you can catch me on steam, or on discord @ muddy#7969

Re: HOW TO DO LET'S PLAYS

Personally I prefer OBS (open broadcast software) OBS has live streaming and recording and has the same compatibility with streaming services like twitch. but is a little complicated to start up but is better overall and is more flexible.

dunno if you can do the face thing with it I dont have a webcam

unfortunately my attempts to stream n64 games on my project64 emulator doesn't seem to work OBs keeps disconnecting from twitch when i try to stream so I guess im not any better off XD.
