BTB - Thank You, I'ma Do A Drive-by - Quartz

So, this is just Thank You, Drive Thru, because that map is bloody epic, adapted to Team Bitmatch with no respawns. Yeah, I think I managed a nearly-perfect no-respawn system. I tried to exploit it in as many ways as I could think, and indeed I ended up having to change a LOT of things. Currently I know of one way that this version can be exploited, if you find more than sam686's second listed method, let me know.

Re: BTB - Thank You, I'ma Do A Drive-by - Quartz

There are 2 ways with this map that can remove "Only One Spawn" limit.
1. Can use Burst to stop from going to teleporter, as ship bounce and stops when it hits burst.
2. At the right timing, ship can hit the bouncy object and stop from going to teleporter, when the bouncy object almost block the path.

Thanks, I'll be thinking about this.

EDIT: I know how to fix the Burster one. The other one I knew was possible but takes hardcore good timing, so I figured it was close enough for government work... but to be fair, it really isn't, I have to fix it. :|

Honestly, I thought the bigger problem was that anyone who doesn't immediately rush to the teleporter the second the level loads is out for the duration, but clearly I didn't test hard enough!

It gives you 7 seconds.

If you need longer than that, you're either 1.) late or 2.) retarded.

In the case of #1, traditionally in limited-life gametypes in any game you have to sit out if you join mid-round.

Besides, if you honestly think people need longer than 7 seconds, (long enough to go get themselves killed and respawn) it's not like it can't be lengthened very simply.

I'm usually not the type to get offended over stuff that doesn't matter, but your "wit" is not needed and I find it extremely insulting. I probably wouldn't be affected, but I'm on edge today after being sick for a whole week now.

I don't hold grudges, _k, it's against common logic, decent etiquette, and technically my religion. But if you really want to hold a grudge against me, go ahead, because that's the message I'm getting right now. :|

This one is a real monster, I'll tell you that right now. Hah, thank you though, for real.

Sorry man - I really don't have anything against you. Honestly, the first thing that occurred to me was that anyone who joined after the first seven seconds of the map (or was just finishing up a chat message, or got up for a drink, or was afk for a minute, or was checking a message when the map loaded) wouldn't actually get to play it.

I didn't set out to hate on you, and I didn't even realize it was possible to actually "glitch" the level! I thought you did a really good job on the mechanism until sam went after it, and frankly, I still do think it's a really good mechanism. I know you've been frustrated with me in the past. I just hope any disagreement we have from here on out isn't automatically assumed to be some kind of feud instead of a valid disagreement.

I have tried updated level, Now look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUKiBI9I0TI
I can somehow get through the blocked bouncy object, but going through easily will require me to type a command /maxfps 120. Need fast computer for the "FPS" counter at top right (press F6) to go over 100.

Thanks bro, brilliantly worded there, I agree. Sounds good.

...The bloody hell?

Since when does changing frames per second change game mechanics?

...I'm lost on that one. I noticed it before I published this build and thought I had ironed it out.

The good news on all of this is that with more than one person on each team, it would pretty much remove any chances of performing these exploits. (due to cramped space) But it's still there, so...

The fps stuff is kind of an all-around bitfighter bug. When i set /maxfps too 1001, bitfighter will go wild and unlimit my fps, causing different properties. For example, in the map "CPU" by cracatoa, I can just stay floating between two speedzones for a short time with enough fps. I can post a video too.

Anyway, my review.

I love the idea. Its ten times more engaging to force people to watch out for their lives. Going around shooting players can be fun if they're active. Its insanely boring if the other team doesn't play though. Also, now that bitfighter is giving us negative points for suiciding, some players are suiciding when they realize they cant respawn (stuck at the testitem). And, there goes your chance of a point. Also, the map seemed to glitch up when uploaded to sam's server, moving a forcefield downward, blocking a test item on the red team. Anyway, since this map was probably made before the 15a and suicide negative points, I'm going to give this a 3.5. Since I cant do half stars, ill round that to a 4.

For you information, this problem with going through bouncy object like that only exists in Bitfighter version 015 and 015a. Earliear (014) version and future version should not have this problem.
